I thought I’d check in with Oddica since I haven’t taken a look for a while and I’m glad to say that their designs have managed to stay consistently excellent since the first time I saw them back in the middle of 2006, in fact, I like their designs so much that I’m wearing one of their hoodies right now.
I know I’ve mentioned him before, but I think that Troy Paiva is the standout artist for Oddica, his series of ‘exploded’ musical paraphenalia has managed to be technically brilliant whilst remaning aesthetically pleasing. Although the funny thing is, if I were to find this kind of artwork in or book or where it’s supposed to be in a technical manual (gasp!), I’d probably be a bit ‘meh’ about it, I guess that’s the power of clothing.
