Ok, I’m not exactly going to be adding a ‘tunic’ category to the sidebar, but I thought you might appreciate a change of pace.
Whilst I do think this looks nice, I’m really struggling to think of a decent description, so I’m afraid that you’re going to have to make do with this rather boring bit of blurb:
• Color - Faded Black
• 100% cotton
• Slit sides
• Open V front with hood
• Drawstring babydoll seam

And yes, two hot models in two days, shoot me.
Shiftcore Studios: A tee, for $5, need more reasons to check that link out? [via HipHipUK]
Pop Junkie: Cool designs that aren’t necessarily printed onto plain tees, which I’m not usually a fan of, but they seem to have done it well. [via teees]
Competition: Not too long left to enter the Dirty Microbe competition. The winner will be announced on Sunday, yeah, a Sunday, can you guess why I’m breaking my traditional weekend break? [via, ummm me]

No Demo is a small indie company that launched in 2006. Whilst their site is a bit sparse at the moment, the thing that matters the most, tees, certainly isn’t lacking in quality. I can’t really decide what kind of style it is that No Demo has so I can’t really compare them to anyone off the top of my head, perhaps they’ve got a variety of artists so there isn’t a unified style, but I do like what I see.
I particularly like the ‘Stage of Sleep’ tee, there’s nothing to say whether the graphs are based upon actual sleep patterns (and how cool would that be?!), but its a great idea either way.

This hoodie looks pretty crazy, am I right? But even though the design is fairly in your face, I don’t think it’s all that brash, probably due to the subdued colourway. Blurb!

It was a real toss-up between ‘Moon Kite’ and ‘Growth for the Sake of Growth‘ (from the Select line) this week, but I eventually sided with Monn Kite since, it’s cheaper, doean’t confuse me as much as those crabs (so over my head), and is available as a long sleeve tee, which is what HYA is for, after all.
This tee actually reminds me of one my favourite Threadless designs, ‘A Fathom Farewell‘, its kind of playful, whilst being a bit sad at the same time, and the subtle use of blue helps to set off the white as well, it doesn’t really feel like a straigh B&W design.
Costiness=$15 for guys, $17 for girls (equality? pah!) and $25 for the long sleeve. URL
Disclosure: all the links in this post are streetteam links.

Even though I’ve never mentioned them before, I utterly love Wrongroks. I don’t really know why, but everything about their designs ticks my boxes.
I also really like the idea of a ‘traditional’ artist putting their work onto clothing (I’m presuming the canvas came before the cotton), it just feels like it makes art a bit more accessible to people that usually see galleries as a bit pretentious.

I was really impressed with the tee I reviewed from Dirty Microbe last month, so I’m proud that they’re involved in Hide Your Arms’ first ever competition.
Here’s the Japanese themed prize package:
- 1 x ‘That’s how I roll‘ t-shirt
- 1 x Lifetime 25% off discount card
- 1 x Japanese bubbly beer mug: Kibin
- 1 x Japanese samurai: Oda Nobunaga
- 1 x Japanese lucky golden poo (all the rage in Japan)
It couldn’t be simpler to enter, all you have to do is leave a comment (remember to include an e-mail address in your info!) or e-mail competitions@hideyourarms.com answering the following question:
“I’m going on holiday to Japan next month, what should I do while I’m there?”
Tell me anything, it can be about food, drink, sightseeing, culture, etiquette, anything you can think of. If you don’t know anything, make it up!
The competition will be open for one week, ending January 19th, when I will pick an answer at random. There aren’t any restrictions upon who can enter, but please only enter once.
This competition is now closed

Yeah, it’s pretty damned ubiquitous, but I still think it’s cool. I was actually reminded about the design when I was watching an old episode of Mythbusters this morning (the one with ‘killer quicksand’). And some guy also wrote a story several years ago about how he struggled to get one of these tees, it’s pretty funny. Luckily all we have to do now is go to defendbrooklyn.com.

I got an e-mail from Dave at Chateaux Roux letting me know about their latest extremely limited edition tees. I actually had to e-mail back to make sure that I’d read it correctly. I suppose you’re wondering what exaclty had confused me. Well, here it is:
“…part of our ‘limited edition’ range of tees to bridge the gap between Winter and Summer. They are all Gold Leaf…”
I figured this would be marketing speak, surely they hadn’t put real gold on a t-shirt? But no, it is real gold, each bit of foil has been individually stuck to the tee. You’d expect to find a premium placed on this kind of luxury, right? Actually no, they’re £40, which is less than some of their other designs (yes Americans, I know $80 is a lot for a tee, but trust me on this, they’re great tees).
On a slightly related note, I spotted Tim Lovejoy (British TV presenter) wearing a Chateau Roux tee on Fifth Gear (a car show) a couple of months back.

I know it’s been on a few of the other tee blogs already, but I thought I’d better inform those of you lucky enough to live in California that XLarge are having a sample sale at their store this weekend. Yes, I am talking about a real bricks and mortar store. Here’s some blurb:
“The XLARGE Flagship Store will be having their annual sample and clearance
sale. Every XLARGE item in the store will be 20%-70% off. Everything from the
tees to the hats to the hoodies will be marked down. It gets crazy every year
and stock is limited so you will definitely want to get there early.”
But I realise that most people that read this blog don’t hail from the land of the O.C. (I just watched the New Years episode, explosive!), so I had a root around their online store and found something pretty decent. Admittedly, it’s a pretty simple hoodie, and it is pretty much a logo hoodie, but I really like that crest. Although, this hoodie’s pretty freakin’ sweet too.
