14 Review: Hummingbird by Nervy Apparel

I know I’m a bit of a tease when it comes to the first pic in these review posts, but the beauty of this design really blew me away, as a t-shirt I don’t think it works quite as well as two the previous Nervy Apparel tees I’ve reviewed, but as an image I think its absolutely beautiful. I know Nervy don’t do wall stickers, but I think this would look awesome blown up on a wall.

Clearly, I’m a big fan of the design, and I think that the blue on blue works really well in this instance, which isn’t exactly a regular occurence in the colour palette world. But, like I said in the intro, I get the feeling that this just doesn’t work as well as their other designs as a t-shirt, I don’t know why either, which is really frustrating, because I’d really like to be blown away by this as something you wear as well as something that you look at.

34 Review: Hummingbird by Nervy Apparel

Nervy Apparel’s quality has impressed me from the beginning, which is hardly surprising since they’re involved with Merchline, but with tees provided by American Apparel you can’t really go too far wrong, and their printing is top notch too.

goodbyes1 Goodbyes are Sad by Believe Clothing

Here’s yet another brand that have been languishing in my inbox for far too long without getting face time with the oh-so-lovely HYA readers. Believe Clothing have got some great designs and a pretty nifty looking flash-ified website, although they seem to be piggybacking someone elses store the store also belongs to Believe and is home to bands that are freinds of the Believe’s owner, which is in a far easier to link format, but a dedicated store is in the works. They’re constantly working on new items and I’m promised that they’ll have a wider selection of long sleeved items in the near future.

beernoculars 3 new tees from Go Ape

Go Ape seem to be kicking things up a gear when it comes to release schedules as they put new designs up less than a month ago and they’ve put up another three today. There’s no new pics on their Flickr stream yet so this is a rather barren post, but I’ll post them when they come in. Absolute lies, they were there all along.

The new designs are ‘Pollute‘ by Jan Avendaro, ‘Beernoculars‘ by UPSO, and ‘Doesn’t Fall Far from the Tree‘ by Graphicairlines (with a little naming help from Preshrunk Jason).

Every time I post about NoiseBot I say how surprised I am about the quality of their designs, when am I just going to realise that they just have decent designers and I can stop being so surprised!

If you want to see all new designs just go to NoiseBot.com and look at the pictures on the left, but I thought I’d highlight my two favourites from the new wave. It’s a real pity that they don’t offfer larger pictures because I’m sure its something that customers would like, and would probably result in more sales for them too.

I do loves me some Monopoly, and this design works really well, I like the way that you immediately recognise it as Monopoly, and yet at the same time, they haven’t felt the need to go lowest common denominator and put text or a logo on there, which I respect, even it was probably done to ensure that they didn’t have lawyers knocking at the door. I saw this and thought it was funny, then I thought “oooh, harsh, people will not be happy”, then I thought “what, too soon?” Pretty original idea, well executed (oh man, worst unintentional pun ever…). URL

As ever all designs are available as a tee ($20.95), hoodie ($35.95), or a tote bag ($14.95).
