Love Stripe by Le Magnifique

lovestripe Love Stripe by Le Magnifique

You know the front pocket on a hoodie? I usually call it a kangaroo pocket, and that’s what I usually see around the internet too, but Factory People seem to think that its called a ‘marsupial pocket’, I know this is hardly a big thing, but I think its pretty funny.

Oh, and model, why not lighten up a bit?

19 Review: Fluent by Vintage Vantage

Do you speak my language? That’s the question that Vintage Vantage ask in the blurb for this tee. And it is a good thing that they’ve asked it because I didn’t really know what this tee was all about until I read the blurb. Even then, I was still pondering, are they asking if I’m fluent in foreign languages (sadly nay)? Or perhaps fluent in typography? Or am I missing something obvious?

I guess it doesn’t really matter what the tee is meant to mean, since I think it is a lot more fun for people to interpret these fairly ambiguous designs themselves. But it does matter what I think of a design (egotistical or what?!). Type tees can be notoriously difficult to pull off with any kind of originality, but VV seem to have achieved that elusive trick, the colours work surprisingly well and they’ve achieved a bit of order-through-chaos with regard to all of the different fonts being employed.

Quality: I don’t doubt the quality of this tee, its really soft, silky and lightweight, but its also pretty darned thin. So thin in fact, that if you have even a suggestion of a chest rug that you aren’t particularly proud of, then it might be a good idea to invest in some wax (girls, you’d probably be wise not to be go near the paparazzi in this tee if you aren’t wearing a bra). The see-through issue is exacerbated by the unusual nature of the fabric, VV describe it as being highly distressed and a ‘burnout’ tee, I don’t understand what that means, but I think of it as giving the fabric a kind of desert camo kind of look.

Tell Divine What Hoodies to Print

Our buddy Bill over at Divine Clothing doesn’t know which of his designs should be turned into hoodies, to remedy this unfortunate situation he has set up a poll so that you can help him decide.

Just check out the designs on this page, and then go to this page and pick your favourite. Simple and satisfying!

image4xl Run DMC Diamante Logo Tee by Amplified

This tee MUST be mega-mainstream since I know one person that owns it and I’ve seen someone else wearing it in my fashion-deprived part of the world, but I really don’t care, I think it looks awesome, and I don’t even listen to (or particularly like) Run DMC!

18 Review: CCTV Stares by Glass Boutique

So, I live in a ’surveillance society’, there are about 4.2 million CCTV cameras in Britain, and even though I live in the peaceful countryside, I went into a store today where the level of monitoring is to the extent where there were microphones subtly hidden about the place, something that other customers, and possible even employees, wouldn’t have been aware of. So it’s hardly a surprise that when Glass Boutique had a competition to pick their next designs that an image of two cameras facing each other was the eventual winner.

28 Review: CCTV Stares by Glass Boutique

To be honest, I don’t really know why there’s two cameras staring at each other, maybe the idea is that Britain is now so dangerous that even the CCTV cameras are scared and need to watch over themselves (which, by the way, isn’t true). Why’s one camera upside down? No idea, but the way that the pole the camera is on goes all the way up to the shoulder is a really nice touch, especially with the symmetry of the pole running to the bottom hem of the tee. The graphic itself.has a slightly fuzzy quality to it, perhaps this is a reference to the low quality images that we see from CCTV cameras on the news?

38 Review: CCTV Stares by Glass Boutique

I know that this is a really weird thing to say about a tee, and it isn’t a test that I perform all the time, but this tee smelt really good, yeah, I experience more fresh tees than a lot of people, but this one smelt really fresh! It felt great too, I don’t recognise the stock brand, but it sure is soft, about as thick as a heavy tee (though not feeling as heavy), and I would describe the fit as somewhere between an athletic fit and a regular shaped tee. Overall, its a quality product that matches up to the expectations that I had of Glass Boutique.

polargardening Threadless: Polar Gardening

Its been a while since the last Threadless Pick, I’m not going to make a pick every week if I think the quality isn’t there in the latest releases, because then I just feel as if I’m fishing for street team points.

I don’t really think that this works all that well as a tee, but the design style and character is just sooo cute! The fact that the character is sucking on a lolly seems to really add something to this, if they were just stood there watching their crop, I don’t think that it would be quite as lovable.

Oh yeah! I am lovin’ this tee from I-Manifest. I think its got something to do with the patterns that are being used to make up the image, it just feels as if they’ve taken a fairly normal looking tee and kicked it up a notch by throwing all of these patterns in there. Its all really the cool the way that when you initially glance at it, to be frank, the design looks like a mess, but then after a few seconds, it all comes together and you start to appreciate just how nice of a design it is.

Concrete Hermit Gallery Sneak Peak

shoppic1 (Custom).jpg

Concrete Hermit, the brand that have a hand in everything (clothes, books, art…) are going to be launching a gallery in London in the near-future, and I stumbled upon the website of said gallery through an Italian google search in my referrer logs, there isn’t much there at the moment, but check it out anyway.

I know that the picture doesn’t really tell you all that much, except that the walls are white and they’re going to be using a HP printer for… something, but I’m really excited about this venture, and I just wanted to alert you to somewhere that you should visit if you happen to be in this great nation’s capital… when it opens (which I’m told should be sooner than the picture indicates).

sin-4-1 Evolution of Flight by Ten Bills

I know I’ve already mentioned this hoodie before but since Ten Bills have dropped the price of the hoodie down to the stunningly low price of $10 (equal to their tees) I though it deserved a second mention. The only catch is that you have a rather large print of the Ten Bills logo on the back, which is a bit of a turn off for some people, but out of sight, out of mind, right?
