A blog about hoodies & t-shirts

spirithoodproduct Boombox Spirits hoodie by Oddica

Oddica released three hoodies today, they truly are treating us by putting an increasing amount of their designs onto hoodies rather than confining them to short-sleeved options.

The Teen Wolf loving ‘These Waves‘ design and frankly bizarre rock (as in stone) to rock (as in music) ‘Block-Rockin‘ design by Rob Gould both got the hood treatment, but once again Gary Gao’s beautiful illustrations have bowled me over and I’m really glad to see that his ‘Boombox Spirits‘ tee has made a successful crossover into a more winter-friendly format.

Hmmmm, I think that the producers of the show might have got a few tees from IGT since they’ve already featured one of their tees on the show in episode 2 of this series, so maybe we’ll be seeing more of them in the next few episodes.

I actually watched this episode with my camera by my side since I knew I’d end up writing a post about it and didn’t want to get screengrabs from Youtube again (even on a friday night I can’t get HYA* off my brain!). As soon as I saw the pixelated pirate flag I thought it might be from Diesel Sweeties, but a little digging around found me at Insanely Great Tees Jolly Roger tee.

There was another tee during the credit sequence at the end of the show, but I couldn’t really make out the design on it due its faintness and my lack of a HD TV. Playing around with the levels in Photoshop it would appear that there’s some wing on the tee, perhaps its a bat? If anyone has any idea where this tee might be from then feel free to drop in a comment.

302Designs very poetic blog

302designs 302Designs very poetic blog

I read a lot of e-mails from very earnest shop owners telling me all about the vision behind their brand. Usually I don’t know whether it’s marketing chatter or something more meaningful, but in the case of 302designs (last spotted on HYA* more than a year ago), I believe every word they say.

They re-launched their blog recently, on Blog Day 2007 in fact. Usually on a tee company’s blog you’ll see lots of posts relating to their own designs, new items that are in stock, that kind of thing. All that is fine, I would expect nothing less, but if you take a look at the 302Designs blog, there’s none of that, just poetry, philosophy and inspirational articles. I guess they’re trying to let us into their world, as a way of explaining the kind of thought that goes into their t-shirt designs.

Although, maybe they could talk about themselves once in a while…
