Click through. Now. You need to see the detailed view of this tee for it to really make sense. The concept is what draws you in, but the execution is what would actually make you want to buy it. Oh, and I love that in their blurb for the artist (Marc Atlan) they name drop “Tom Ford, Oliver Stone, Andree Putman, Philippe Starck, Helmut Lang and James Perse” and then finish off the mini-bio by saying that Marc “doesn’t like name dropping.” I’m going to give Poketo the benefit of the doubt here and believe that they know what irony is.

Beautiful/Decay Redesign

bdredesign Beautiful/Decay Redesign

Beautiful/Decay have redesigned their site, it looks good, although not really in the style that I would expect from them.

One cool little feature that they’ve introduced is the ‘public feed’, that’s the box on the left there, where you can post your own topics/links and they get displayed on the front page. That sounds like it might become like a bit of a mouthpiece for press releases, though I’d presume that B/D would keep a pretty close eye on it to ensure things don’t get too spammy.

Oh, and $20 for a US subscription, bargain! Although the $70 Worldwide option isn’t quite as appealing, but I guess that posting a magazine ain’t cheap.

If you would like to read about all the cool new stuff that they’ve done just click through to read the press release.

The Blueprint by Village Hill @ the Kazbah

This design is probably a bit too busy for my liking, but I’ve got to admire them for the idea, and I really like the way that the outside and inside contrast on the hood. Actually, I just straight up like the inside pattern, although I couldn’t see myself wearing this on the reverse, although there’s no mention on the blurb about it being reversible so maybe that isn’t even an intention of Village Hill’s.

Concrete Hermit Gallery is open!

 Concrete Hermit Gallery is open!

Okay, so it hasn’t had as much buzz as the Threadless opening, but I’m really happy that Concrete Hermit have managed to get past the myriad of obstacles that have stood in the way of them opening their store and are well on their way to having their first show there (which might already be happening, I need to check). So if you’re in London for design week or just feel like checking out a cool store, head on over and say hello, tell ‘em Andy from Hide Your Arms sent you, you’ll probably get bemused stares.

Here’s the address:
5a Club Row,
London,
E1 6JX
United Kingdom
And here’s a google map if you want some directions: Map.
