100 Anthropomorphic tees (1-50)

title2 100 Anthropomorphic tees (1 50)

Anthropomorphism is huge when it comes to tee design, especially on design-competitions like Threadless and Split The Atom. I guess people just like seeing animals and inanimate objects being put into human situations, or maybe a jar of mayonnaise is easier to draw than people…

I realise that despite the broadness of anthropomorphism as a defined term (pretty much anything that isn’t human acting with human qualities or traits), some of these tees are fairly questionable as to whether they are actually anthropomorphic or merely drawn in a way that makes them appear that like that. But hey, why argue semantics when there’s great looking tees to look at!

The 100 tees have been split into two posts because 100 in the list would just be far too long of a page.

(Please note that some of these tees, especially the ones from Threadless, may have sold out between the time of me writing this and you reading it)

*Update* If you’re on the hunt for long lists of t-shirts, check out this huge collection of t-shirt lists (from lots of different sites, not just this one), or the lists category. Also, if you enjoyed this post, it would be very much appreciated it if you mentioned it on twitter, facebook, or another other form of social media like digg, stumbleupon or delicious.

I never really intended for HYA to become the hub of all robot based clothing on the ‘net, and yet, here we are!

Me&Yu have got such a great style, they seem to be able to make really simple images look amazing, and somehow, just by having two colours printed on this hoodie makes it look so much better (I would imagine) than if they’d just used one colour.

in Sales,T-shirts

From their mailout:

Beginning today, for the next 5 days (til Tuesday, October 2), all of the shirts in our website store are half price! That’s $17.50 a shirt. You heard me right. I’ll say it again, $17.50 a shirt! We only have a few shirts left of most designs, so don’t wait too long to see what’s available.

(The shirt description will show the normal price — $35 — but it will ring up $17.50 when you place a shirt into the shopping cart).

We are finalizing the roster for our fall run and will be announcing the line-up soon. We have some amazing shirts coming up…

Get on it!

DBH, how on Earth do you manage to keep up the quality of your tees?

Today’s $750 winner is great, well illustrated, good space and sizing, well used metallic ink highlights (the stars, presumably) and even a bit of social commentary thrown in for good measure too.

Improvising Electronic Devices is Not a Crime

ied Improvising Electronic Devices is Not a Crime

When I first heard about this story, I just thought it was the mooninites all over again, a big over-reaction by the authorities, but now that I’ve seen the hoodie that Star Simpson was wearing I can understand how someone could have acted upon instinct when they saw a circuit board and wires on a piece of clothing. I still think it was an over-reaction, fair enough they should have questioned her about it, but it seems to have all been blown way out of proportion, can’t we just accept that sometimes people in college do regrettable things even if they go to MIT, a college of geniuses (or is that genii? what an embarassing thing to need to ask).

But hey, if you wanted to here me ramble about this kind of thing you’d buy me a drink on a Saturday night and ask me whats griding my gears this week, you’re here for the relevant t-shirt!

Someone over at the Instructables forums (Star is a member) has put together a design that available on Spreadshirt US, and $5 of the proceeds will go towards helping Star’s legal costs. It’s actually a prettyy good design, usually these things can look a bit lame, but I;m impressed with this. I wonder long it will be until one of the Instructables members replaces the printed LEDs with actual LEDs?

Beach hoodie by Angry Retail

Pretty simple looking hoodie, but I quite like it, the black outer works really well with the blue inner lining of the hood. Sometimes you don’t need a crazy pattern or design, just something that looks good. Costiness=€70 URL
