I think that this might say something about just how much of the Simpson’s I’ve watched, and re-watched, but as soon as I pulled this tee out of the envelope I thought of that episode (presumably a
Treehouse of Horror) where Jasper Beardly freezes himself in the Kwik-E-Mart asking to be thawed out when robot wives become cheap. He also asks Apu to change his pants to keep up with current trends. Yep, way off from the meaning and message that’s behind this design, but that’s what it reminds me of.

As a person who grew up watching that classic of children’s Christmas entertainment,
The Snowman, I totally get the sentiment behind putting a snowman into a freezer so that it can live forever, it’s kind of sad, inspiring and desperate at the same time, and those aren’t often feelings I find being evoked when I’m looking at a t=shirt. On a happier note, how freakin’ cool would it be if an enterprising store owner actually did this? I would buy ice cream there for life!
The use of the negative space is really great here. Looking at any of the elements (other than the snowman itself) you can’t actually tell what they are unless you look at what isn’t printed. So, it’s kind of like jazz, you need to listen to the notes that aren’t playing! (last Simpson’s joke, I promise)

The print on this tee is good quality, it certainly has a printed to last feel about it. The design is printed onto a ‘best’ tee by Fruit of the Loom.
ClothMoth have indicated to me that they’re going to hang with the cool kids and start printing onto American Apparel, but I’m actually quite impressed by this offering from FotL. It certainly feels better quality and much softer than the FotL tees that my favourite bands were printing onto a few years ago when I’d always get a souvenir tee after ever gig I went to. In terms of sizing, its a pretty regular cut, although slightly slimmer in the body than I’d expect from the Loom.
