Cotton Filter: 141107

13 Cotton Filter: 141107

I couldn’t decide what picture to use for this post so I just grabbed one of my favourites from my own collection, you like?

HYA* x Mimoco Contest: Just one week left to enter. And if you want higher quality materials, check out this post.

Human Empire: I really like Human Empire’s clothes, and I probably even go for the internship they’re offering on their site at the moment if I could speak German, but one of the things that was always a barrier for me was that you had to e-mail them to buy their products. Well, that barrier has dropped with the opening of their webstore ‘A Number of Small Things‘, which is a collaborative effort with a few partners who are mostly record labels. They’ve also got some new products so check that out.

Design By Humans: Robot Attack, the most roboty of robot tees, has been reprinted, along with Addition (which I reviewed and loved back in August), and Redfly. I think these are DBHs first ever reprints, congrats to them!

Burnswell: They must be hoping that their tees will sellwell now that they’ve dropped them all to $12 for a seasonal sale… that was lame, I’m sorry….

mashPOTATO: Never heard of them before but their shirts don’t blow so you might want to take a look, especially since they just $11 a piece until the 18th, which is something like 50% off the regular price.

Pretty Hammer
: They’ve just released a tee from which all the proceeds go to the Save Darfur organisation, which is really cool of them. Cool design too.

Artus Apparel: I know this is early, but I want you to be aware. They’ve got a coupon code (turkey) comping up that will only work on Black Friday (which is next week?) and get you 35% off your order. I’ll probably mention it next Thursday but I just wanted to give prior warning.

Methods NYC: Their Fall/Winter ’07 line is out now, and has been for about a week or so, expect to see a couple of recommendations coming up on HYA, but for now just check it out yourself.

Yackfou: They’ve just dropped a new site (its hot) and some new designs (hotter than the freakin’ sun). Go look at it now. Now!

Resist Today: They’ve made their previous deal even sweeter by offering a free tee for every $25 you spend. Add the free tee(s) to your cart from their sale page.

Splitreason.com: They’ve just added “a crapload of new products.” Time to get your geek on!

UNITED Trade Show: Just to let other bloggers/journo’s/buyers/sellers know (since I don’t think this event is open to the general public), registration is now open for the trade show. I’m very tempted to go to the New York one in January next year since with the dollar being so weak it would probably be cheaper for me to go there than stay at home.

8 Bit by Heavy Tees

by Andy on November 14, 2007

HR02598 pixelbothoody 8 Bit by Heavy Tees

Back in school a me and a friend used to play Tetris against each other on our original Game Boys using a link cable, and then a few days later there seemed to be quite a few people bringing in old Game Boys, and we basked in the glory of starting a trend for retro gaming in our school. Moral of the story, I’ve been telling people what’s awesome for years now, and Tetris is easily one of the greatest games ever, and that’s coming from a guy who’s sat at his lap top watching a rather ferocious Halo 3 multiplayer battle unfold in front of him (what’s the deal with all the racism on Xbox Live?).

I feel as if I may have gone off on somewhat of a tangent… whilst its pretty clear what initially drew me to this hoodie, it’s actually the patterned that has left me most interested. It would be great to see a close-up of the lining so that I could actually tell what the pattern was of, because if it involved a Tetris piece then I might actually lose my mind.

ab070 05 LRG Concrete Hermit: Anthony Burrill tees + gallery show

Concrete Hermit are keeping things rolling at their new store/gallery with a new show by artist Anthony Burrill which runs until November 25th, if you happen to be in the East End of London then it looks worth checking out. To celebrate the show, CH have released two tee designs by Burrill that are limited to just 100 pieces each and come in a similarly limited, numbered, hand stencilled box. Classy!

I like the way that Burrill has put a little monogram at the bottom corner of the tee, kind of like when an artist puts their signature on a painting. I also like it because those are my initials and think that would look really cool if it appeared that designers labeled clothes just for me.

12 Review: Needs Salt by ClothMoth

Have you ever thought about what might have happened if that little pretzel that President Bush was choking on had actually killed him? Or if the fall he suffered mid-choke resulting in him getting a cut on his noggin (that’s his head for people who haven’t been keeping up in British colloquialism’s class). Think about it… President Cheney…

22 Review: Needs Salt by ClothMoth

So, I’ve made it pretty clear that pretzels are just as much of a threat to America as terrorism, and I have a degree in politics (really), so it has to be true. You’d think that because I’ve proven that pretzels are extremely dangerous I’d have a hatred for this tee. But naturally, I don’t, because it’s a cute design, especially the little hearts that have been worked into the speech bubble (peep those in the images at the bottom). The style evokes a kind of melancholy to the romantic undertone too, I guess that’s because of subdued nature of the colours, but I don’t think that it totally masks the light-hearted nature of the joke.

32 Review: Needs Salt by ClothMoth

As I’ve discussed before, my shirts from ClothMoth are printed on the Best range of Fruit of the Loom tees, which I’m really impressed with, but they’re shifting over to American Apparel tees since they’re pretty much the independent industry standard now. Print quality is good again too.
