HYA fave and frequent Oddica contributor Troy Paiva has knocked another one out of the park by putting more than one ‘exploded’ thing onto a tee. More than one!
The all-over print represents a bit of a departure from the norm for Oddica too, since I think of them more as a front and centre print type company, letting the artwork do the talking rather than the placement. If my memory serves me correctly, a few of the items in the tee have been on Oddica tees before, but whatever that is in the top right is new to me.
In other Oddica news, they’ve launched the second stage of their holiday sale. You can currently get one AA printed tee for $15, 2 for $28, and 3 or more for $13 a piece. Hoodies are $24 and $30, which is cheap, damn cheap. Issue 6 of their ever in-house PDF magazine, packed full of cool illustrations, is out now too.
Threadless Bingo @ Fantastic Bonanza: Hipster bingo for all! The FB guys have coded up a fun little bingo card that randomly selects different Threadless designs, then you print it out next time you’re going to a place where people wear pork-pie hats and have ironic facial hair and tick off a Threadless design if you spot it. A lot of fun and a little nudge at the ubiquity of Threadless nowadays.
Faveur Clothing: Free shipping until December 31st with the coupon code getcovered.
No Star Clothing: They’ve just dropped 11 new designs and have still got a load of designs available for the low, low price of $12.
Johnny Cupcakes: They’ve got a ‘bake sale’ going down, along with new kids shirts and scarves.
Your Eyes Lie: New designs, and I’ve got a review coming up soon.
All Jelly No Toast: Everything is on sale, even I’m tempted to buy something! And for those of you that were put off buying Chateau Roux in the past, here’s one of their amazingly high quality tees for *just* $42.99.

I remember a few months ago when I was watching this episode of BBC2s ‘Mock the Week’ (I never miss is, thanks Sky+!) that I could have sworn I’d seen the t-shirt being worn by Russel Howard before. Incidentally, if you don’t know who Russel Howard is, you should, he’s a very funny man and a real up-and-comer in the UK standup world, there’s lots of his stuff on YouTube, or if you aren’t a fan of copyright infringement, try his own website. Back to the tee, I had seen it before, on EIOs website, as its part of their marvelous Autumn/Winter07 collection.

On the HYA about page, along with being woefully out of date, it jokes that I’ll write about onesies since they hide your arms. Well, it may have taken almost two years, but I finally freakin’ did it!
Threadless say that they asked their printers to get them onsies with hoods on them, and that the printers came back empty-handed, so they just made them themselves, and the ‘hoodsie’ was born. Now, I realise I’ve got my skeptical hat on here, but as they state in their own blog post, there are costumes likes this for kids, and whilst they do have ears on them usually, so that the baby looks like a bear or whatever, that doesn’t stop them from being a hoodsie now does it?
Still, they’re sooooooo cute!

Spear Talks: Tado: One of my favourite blogs talks to one of my favourite art/illustration duos. No huge revelations, but a fun little interview.
The Quiet Life: A little holiday bonus from the guys at TQL:
Every order placed before Dec. 25th that’s over $75.00 will receive a free QL Camera Club book (vol. 2) and a free Poo Poodles CD. And every order over $100.00 will recieve a free Camera Club book, a free Poo Poodles CD, and a free QL Tshirt.
Threadbanger: Our friends over at Threadbanger have a new episode out, this ones all about hair! (yeah, I know, this ain’t ‘Hide Your Scalp’…)
Bountee gets a forum: I don’t really understand why all t-shirt design competitions don’t have forums in some form or another, it seems like something that would help to create a better feeling of community. It’s pretty bare bones and quiet at the moment as it was only announced a few days ago, but it still seems like a good addition to this increasingly impressive site.
Glarkware: Free shipping on orders over $75

I’m giving this design a shout out, not because I think its amazing (its good, but I’m not ga-ga for it), but because I wanted to give props (’props’ am I using that right?) to the designer, PsyKopaT, for not giving up at LaFraise and getting printed after his 70th submission, something which surprises me considering the quality of the designs on his blog.

Now this is a lot more what I expect when I think of Artful Dodger, and even though I can admit that the patterns on this blazer and the tee I mentioned on Thursday are actually pretty similar, it feels like a whole different ball-game to be audacious enough to put that kind of pattern onto what is generally considered quite a dressy item.
Even though I don’t think that I quite have the cajones to wear this, I do kinda like it, even if it is just in a “people that wear streetwear are crazy” kind of way. If you click through you’ll see that the blazer has a burgundly lining with pink trim, which contrats really well with the white. Oh, and whilst I like it, I don’t necessarily $200 like it (which is circa $100 off the original price).

Has anyone else noticed that if you’re a clothing company and you base yourself in Germany then chances are you’re going to consistently put out awesome designs? Think about it, Human Empire, Yackfou, A Better Tomorrow, Scribtee… others.
I’ve got no clue what the deal is with the design (are they meant to be angel wings?) and how it relates to the ‘Midwest’ title, but that doesn’t stop the hand drawn style from being really endearing, especially the way that their name is hand drawn.
