A blog about hoodies & t-shirts

His Holiness the Dalai Lama by FerneMillen

Well, apparently, they’re both going to have their own celebrity clothing lines. Yep, because if there’s anyone that I’d like to design my clothes, its a guy that wears an orange sheet!

Fashionista blog reports that street fashion brand Tonic will launch a personally-branded t-shirt line with His Holiness the Dalai Lama, with proceeds benefiting charities of his choosing.

I’m a little bit skeptical about this story to say the least, I first came across it via Boing Boing (where the above quote comes from), who said that Fashionista were reporting it, but the BB link lead to a dead end, and I can’t find a trace of it on the Fashionista site, and no one else seems to have reported it on Google News (obviously there are rather more pressing issues in Tibet for him to be concerned with at the moment which might be affecting my searches). I’m not saying its untrue since it doesn’t seem that crazy for him to have some tees designed (presumably for him, not by him) with a large chunk of the sales going to charities selected by his holiness, but it does seem like the kind of thing that would have more than one source.

If you willing to ignore the fact that when you wear this hoodie your friends will almost inevitably make jokes about you having sperm on your top, its is a great design, and I love the idea of putting so much colour on top of a grey hoodie. I’m not really in love with the price, but for some reason I expect everything to be expensive in Denmark, so the price is probably fairly normal for there.

Superman by Bang Bang T-shirts

It would appear that the hitherto little known Bang Bang T-shirts have made a splash with their latest releases, as I’ve seen this Superman t-shirt popping up all over the place. With good reason too, it looks really cool, with an arty style that we don’t often see making its way onto cotton, usually preferring to stick to canvas.Costiness=£13.99 (free delivery) Link

One of my many terms that I’m not fond of is ‘loving this!’ But I took a look at this hoodie and that phrase popped into my head, so after being a bit disappointed with myself and confessing my sin of having an inner monologue that sounds like a bad radio DJ, I moved on, vowing to never say ‘loving this!’ ever again, whether in my head or out of it.My reason for… enjoying the garment in question so much is the colourway. White + light blue is pretty much a ticket to surprisingly-classyville in my eyes, and the addition of the yellow drawstring works surprisingly well too. Logo-haters may want to steer well clear of this one though.
