I was a little worried about what was going to happen when I opened up an e-mail with ‘Springtime Stickup’ as its title since all I hear about Philadelphia (2one5’s home) is that its the murder capital of America now, take that Washington DC!

Cropped Blazer by Endovanera

encrop_large Cropped Blazer by Endovanera

As usual with my blazer posts, I wouldn’t recommend buying something over the internet that is so closely linked to body shape, especially when it costs as much as this one does, but this is way too nice to skip just because I wouldn’t buy it.For me, the cropping is one of the few let downs on this piece, for some reason it reminds me of the jackets that people wear when they’re riding horses in competitions, but its still a damned fine looking singe-button blazer, and the way that there doesn’t seem to be any buttons on the cuffs is a really nice touch.

greycolors More Colors [sic] in a Grey World by dhectwenty @ Design By Humans

Hehe, I couldn’t stop myself resurrecting my old habit of punishing Americans for using American spellings in the title (how dare you not speak the Queens English!).dhectwenty (AKA Herman Lee, I think), you sir, are the man. If this tee wasn’t good enough, and it is, the one I’m featuring today is pretty damned impressive too. Paint splatters had seemed to be out of fashion of late, but this tee seems to deal with them in a different way. Instead of it looking as if paint has been flicked on it, there’s something a whole lot more natural about many of the splashes, although I guess that might be something to do with the gorgeous choice of colours. Colours, not ‘colors’. I’m never gonna give this spelling thing up am I?Costiness=$19 Link

fabricedition More Colors [sic] in a Grey World by dhectwenty @ Design By Humans

In other DBH news, they’ve finally let us know what the ‘Fabric Edition’ is that we’ve been teased with for the past few weeks:

40 singles 100% combed ringspun cotton, custom colors.
Silicon and enzyme washed for extra softness.
Featuring hand picked designs every Friday.
Selected designers receive $1,000 instant cash!

Basically, they’re going to be picking their favourite submissions and printing them, negating the whole voting process, which seems slightly counter-intuitive to the process, but I think we can all accept that DBH (and any other design competition) isn’t a democracy and that sometimes they spot some designs that they just love and want to print whether the community wants it or not. I guess you could also argue that Fabric Edition actually reinforces the democratic nature behind the voting process, since if they’re doing this, they’re clearly dedicated to supporting the decisions of the voting community.

Grey Croton Storm Jacket by Spiewak @ Karmaloop

It’s a pretty understated kind of a coat, so I don’t really feel as if there’s that much I can say about it, but it does look like a quality piece that would fit nicely into any wardrobe.

The Croton Storm Jacket features a water proof breathable body, taped seams. The shell is tekora CL 100% nylon, the lining is mesh and taffeta. The piece also features 6 front pockets, a hood in the collar, M-65 style shoulder straps and the Spiewak logo on the right sleeve.

instructables T-Shirt Hacks Contest @ Instructables

Instrucables, a sort of how-to/DIY site that I may have mentioned in the past, is hosting a contest all able T-shirt hacks. I know there are lots of smart people out there that have major skills when it comes to making a t-shirt look a lot less like a t-shirt, and whether you’re interested in adding your idea (what? there are people that don’t use a t-shirt as a strainer when making jam!) or just looking for a bit of inspiration, its worth a click through to the entries. The prizes do seem to be somewhat lacking, but I don’t think this is a major Instructable contest.Instructables T-shirt hacks contest

[Note: I've never used a t-shirt as a strainer when making jam, though in an emergency situation it may well work]

Simplement, spend €29 or more at Paris-based Ministry of Design (which should be pretty easy considering they now sell HYA-fave Wrongwroks) and you are entitled to 20% off your order by using the coupon code PRINTEMPS during the checkout process.

I can’t see an expiration date for this coupon, but considering ‘printemps’ means ’springtime’ in English my guess is that it won’t be around for all that long.
