Star commenter Kevin reminded me to check out YesStyle a week ago, pointing out this hoodie in the process. For those of you that are unaware, YesStyle is a company that sells clothes and accessories by a variety of Asian designers that we wouldn’t usually get to hear about in the rest of the world. They also do electronics, books and games through YesAsia.com, so you can think of them as an Asian Amazon.

But this is HYA, we care not for electronics (unless they’re being clumsily stuck onto t-shirts), we care for hoodies! This large black-and-white dot print from South Korean brand Npfeel is pretty cool, and also available with blue and pink dots. I do wish that the pattern would line up across the zipper though. Strangely, this is a ‘one size fits all’ hoodie, something which is very rare indeed, so make sure you study that size chart before placing an order.

Pictures For Sad Children, which appears to be one of those websites where a funny person draws something funny and then people look at it and go “hey, that’s funny, I should look at this every day,” have released several tees which are for sale through the TopatoCo merchandising empire.

Me, I think that this tee needs a slight change, music forums and youtube comments are where awful meet. I know that makes no sense since the people that frequent forums and comment on youtube videos are usually (self-described) as being very intelligent, rational people that rarely threaten violence upon anyone. They do, however, think that everyone else is equal to, or worse than Hitler.

If I were to write a list of things that I was becoming increasingly attracted to in the world of hoodie design I think that diagonal zippers and asymmetry would be on it. This hoodie also has printing in the hood lining, which you would also find on my make-believe list.

This hoodie by BBP is a great example of a hoodie that is really well made, very interesting, yet not an in-you-face attention grabber, although if you pulled the zip down a bit and pulled the lapels out (revealing the same pattern as on the hood lining) then I guess you might get a few looks!

I got a chance to meet up with EIO at Margin back in February, and it was really great to get hands on with their whole range after reviewing a sample back in October last year.So, with that knowledge in mind, I can tell you with no uncertainty that this latest S/S range is damn fine. The hoodies were soft and the designs were sharp, and they’ve even started selling some rather nifty looking belts that have their logo stamped onto them. Props to EIO for seeming like a great bunch of people, having spoken to them I can really understand the level of passion that they put into what they do, and I think that shows through in this latest collection.
