2637915255 c363f9c62d Panther Hoodie by Partybots [Flickr Finds]

Hey! Do you like panthers? Do you like hoodies? Do you like panthers printed onto hoodies? No? Oh. Sorry to have wasted your time.

If you happen to be a fan of panthers (and/or organic cotton), check out the blurbage:

Eco-Heather: Alternative earth’s eco-heather collection are now manufactured using organic cotton, recycled polyester & rayon made from naturally occurring polymers.

Panthers are pretty amazing. There are some really famous stories of them eating giant spiders and pterodactyls. They are so rad in fact, I painted this on my living room wall. It’s eyes follow me throughout the living room. I’m kind of hoping this artwork follows you around as well.

tab shoot 300x199 Tokyo Art Beat: T Shirt Collection #4

Everytime I see or read anything about Japan or Tokyo my mind gets transported back to the wonderful 10 days I spent there in 2007, so I’m always glad to get an e-mail from Tokyo Art Beat, and not just because they consistently put out excellent t-shirts.

The latest two designs are by Ko-zou and Tada Reiko, and represent the first part of TABs fourth collection. They’re going to be releasing two new designs every couple of months, presumably sticking with their signature white, pink, and blue colourways for the whole collection. I really like the photoshoot that they did for these two tees, the shots were taken in a genuine Love Hotel.

art background intro1 How to Dress like the cast of Mad Men

Like many Americans, and about a dozen Brits, I was hooked on Mad Men from pretty much the first episode, so I’m eagerly awaiting it return to British screens now after the second season began a few days ago in the US (I might have to resort to ‘other means’ of watching it though). Whilst I don’t expect to be switching the content of HYA from streetwear and indie clothing stores to vintage inspired men’s tailoring, I thought you might get a kick out of Valet Mag’s look into how the costume designers dress the men of Sterling Cooper.

204316004c13582681a9cb6bd06d6287 Another F#%^ing T Shirt By Another F(#%ing T Shirt Company

I remember seeing this t-shirt a couple of years ago when it was the full-blooded, swearing like a sailor version, but I didn’t post it since back then I didn’t want to swear on the blog (and I still don’t), so happily Reason clothing have released a version that is totally inoffensive because no one will possibly be able to work out what letters #%^ are meant to represent.

I think its well established that I’m not good at drawing (see), but I know that there’s a fair few designers amongst you, so I thought that you guys might benefit from checking out a series on Go Mediazine called ’15 Awful Mistakes Made by Designers in the Music & Apparel Industry’ especially if you’re just starting out in the industry and aren’t too sure about how everything works. There’s insight and advice from designers such as Rob Dobi (Full Bleed), Jimiyo, Derek Deal, and Jimmy Heartcore, amongst others, so I guess you could say these guys have been there, done that, and designed the t-shirt…. ha!
