Remember that t-shirt that had a glove stitched onto it? Yeah, that was fun, wasn’t it? Turns out that itself, the company behind the infamous Glove Pocket tee, aren’t just a one-hit wonder, they’ve got more tees that don’t suck, and I handily put pictures of them into the gallery. The black tee is called ‘Never take Candy from a Strange Thing‘, this seven-colour pastel print is yet another great design from Wotto, and marks a departure from itself.s previous minimalist style. ‘More tape‘ is far more in keeping with what I’d expect from these guys, a black and white colourway that’s also kinda funny.
Both of these designs are winners of the Itself design competition. The prize package for winners is pretty substantial, you get $1750 in cash and $250 in ‘itself-coins’ (…store credit), and if your tee is popular and sells out its initial run you’ll get the same again for the second print run of 3000 tees.
The summer sales just keep on coming, don’t they, forcing me to spend my days indoors writing about sales rather than going outside to enjoy the summer, oh the damned irony!
Scribtee are the latest brand to get in on the act, by offering 8 of their older designs (I think they were the first 8 released when the shop was launched) for the rather reasonable price of $15/€15/£10. If you need reminding about this Berlin-based design competition, here’s my review from November last year.
See those pictures up there? Those printing errors were not what Eric from Linty Fresh wanted to see when he received his latest batch of shirts from the printer. Instead of just chucking them into a closet to gather dust, he’s giving them away for free. Well, as free as you could hope for, you still have to pay shipping ($3 domestic, $7 international), but I don’t think any of you could expect him to pay for shipping when he’s just giving you a tee. I don’t know how long this offer is good for, so if you want one it might be a good idea to let him know sharpish.

This may come as a massive surprise to you, but the guy who was born and raised in rural Cumbria doesn’t really know much about hip-hop, unless knowing the theme to tune to ‘The Fresh Prince of Bel Air’ counts as knowing something about hip hop. But I do know what I like, and if Justin Timberlake is introducing the Cool Kids then they must be good!
