Kiks Tyo’s Olympics tee won’t be around for long

I say that this won’t be around for long for two reasons:

1) It’s limited to 100 pieces worldwide.
2) I doubt that they’ve got a license for it, and the IOC aren’t particularly well known for being cool with people making use of their magic rings.

I quite like the print on the back, its rather more interesting that most of the official merchandise, but I can’t work out why they’ve put their logo and that distinctly uninspired font on the front. Get rid of the front print and switch the back print to the front and I’d be a lot more impressed with this. If you’re impressed, you can find it (unless its already sold out) at the following stores.

Star Wars Election ’08 Tees

by Andy on August 8, 2008

in Political,Seen on TV,T-shirts

People seem to have been going crazy for these tees over the past few days, and I can see why, since its Star Wars merchandise, and as I understand it, all Star Wars merchandise is popular. What I didn’t realise earlier is that as well as the t-shirts posted above, the full capabilities of Zazzle‘s ability to customise clothing is being utilised, meaning that if you feel that you deserve to be voted to Jedi Council then you can put your own name onto a tee. There’s also buttons available to help complete your election outfit.

As far as I can tell, they aren’t actually holding an election, I thought this might be tied in with some kind of poll to find the most favoured Star Wars character, but it appears not.

Check out the Star Wars selection at Zazzle.

Help Jimiyo Eat, Drink & Be Merry by funding this design

speedy preorder Help Jimiyo Eat, Drink & Be Merry by funding this design

Here’s something you don’t see every day, popular tee designer Jimiyo is holding a fundraiser so that he can get his latest tee design printed up. Using Fundable, if you pledge $20 to his cause and he reaches the target of $881 you’ll be sent the tee, but if he doesn’t reach that target by the end of August you won’t be charged anything, but you won’t receive a tee either.

When he first came up with this idea it wasn’t open to us international folks, but I think that we can get in on the action now. I really like this as a concept, it feels as if it connects you more with the artist. If you’re an artist that thinks you might want to follow this model, then Cameesa are another option for crowd-sourced and community funded t-shirt designs.

1842 2 Kung Fu Kid Nunchucks by Stay Up [Rumplo Rocks]

I’m not usually a huge fan of the ‘pretend things worn around the neck’ niche of tees, but when the pretend thing worn around the neck is a pair of nunchucks, I’m willing to let it slide.

Pop Vulture T-Shirts are circling above the Bush administration

I don’t have a problem with political designs on t-shirts, if you want to say something and feel that a tee is the best way to go about it then go ahead, be my guest, my only problem with political tees is that they usually go for substance over style. If you’re going to go to all the bother of printing a tee, why not make it look good?

I get the feeling that Pop Vulture might be on the same wavelength with me in this, because their tees have graphics on them that don’t look like clip art. They raise a lot of good and important points with their designs, which are accompanied on the product pages with facts and clippings related to that tees issue (on the flash site, not the retail site). Oh, and they don’t like Paris Hilton, awesome.
