I’m probably showing my lack of art knowledge with this, but would I be right in thinking that this t-shirt has a very famous painting printed on it?
I don’t really mind if it was painted two hundred years ago or two days ago, it still looks really cool, and that’s the most important thing, right gang?

I’m trying to get away from the
sale posts because I get the feeling you’re getting a bit sick of them (and its getting towards the time when items can’t be delivered in time for Christmas anyway), but
50% off at Ecko, including the
Star Wars range that people were going crazy for a while back, is too good of an offer not to let you know about.

Yeah, I know. Mugs. On Hide Your Arms. A blog about clothes. I’m as shocked as you are, but with Christmas coming up I’ve been spending a lot of time on the internet looking at presents for friends and family, and I’ve found lots of cool things that I wouldn’t mind seeing underneath the tree, and this cool set of mugs would be included in that. The design is also available as a t-shirt (which actually looks pretty good), so this post isn’t actually as far off topic as you would imagine. Whilst we’re on the subject of mugs, and I presume that we never will be ever again, these
Pantone ones are pretty bloody cool too.

Akomplice are a great example of a brand that know what taking photos is all about. They’ve got the cool lifestyle lookbook photo’s like the one above (and in the gallery), and then they’ve got standard photos of the individual items (also in the gallery) so that you can get a proper look at what you’re buying. It’s a good lesson for smaller brands to learn, if people can’t see what they’re going to buy, they aren’t going to buy it, so it’s important to learn how to take good photos of the clothes that designers have spent so much time working on. Also, nice pictures of clothes make HYA look better, which makes me more likely to post about those items, and I presume it’s a similar story with other bloggers and website owners.
This release is Akomplice’s 9th collection, and whilst I can’t really nail it down in terms of one style (it happily bounds across a number of styles), it seems pretty damn solid, lots of great pieces to cover you from head to toe, ensuring that there should be something for everyone to like in this collection… probably.

You all know that I’m a bit of a sucker for a company that are trying to do their bit for charity whilst also trying to make you look good, and
Miss Do-Gooder most certainly do that.
Every time someone buys the tee above, $2.50 will go to the First Book charity, which is enough to give a disadvantaged child a book, which will help them to learn to read, and then eventually one day they’ll start reading HYA, so basicially everyone wins, especially the kids… and me.
