Graniph may only do one t-shirt design competition a year (I think), but when they do, they do. That million yen (around $9000 US) is just the gold prize, there will also be:
5 Silver winners who get $900
10 Bronze winners who get $450
7 Winners decided by the sponsor companies who also get $450
The list of sponsors is impressive too. T-World magazine, Superfuture, Dazed & Confused magazine, grafik magazine, STUDIOVOICE, XLR8R, and a Japanese one that I can’t read. Pretty prestigious stuff I’m sure you’ll agree.
As the graphic above says, 30,000 entries were made to their last couple of competitions, so it’s safe to presume that competition will be stiff this this time around too. Applications/submissions can be made throughout next month.
