Here’s some news that I found out from one of my favourite new tee blogs,
tee.ms.
Print Liberation, who are a company that do simple tees right (amongst other things), are celebrating their tenth anniversary by releasing the tee pictured above. It’s kinda funny that I associated PL with strong, simple prints, and then this tee is kinda fancy, but I guess they wanted to go with a vintage look, something which is hardly surprising considering they’re celebrating the passage of time.

I reckon that if you buy this tee
RIGHT NOW then you might be able to wear it on January 20th when the-guy-who’ll-do-a-better-job-than-the-last-guy-but-probably-not-as-awesome-as-everyone-hopes gets sworn in as President.

I’ve got no idea where it comes from, but this is one of those tees that makes me smile so much that I simply do not care.

Update: Gar0 told me that I’d need to credit the model for this shot too, and he was not wrong, as a quick look at the Threadless Blank Tee Photos Pool reveals that the model is this person, and that I believed this was a real tee when it is in fact a mock-up and therefore more than likely not for sale.

It’s quite cool that I received the tees that Lovefoxxx (the singer in CSS) because I usually get to write about lots of cool collaborations, and it doesn’t get much cooler than the Japanese-Brazilian singer from a hot indie band designing tees for a super-cool Japanese t-shirt company, but it’s usually pretty rare for me to actually get to see the goods when they go from design to printed reality. Just for a change with my
Graniph reviews, you can actually buy this one, although it might be best to pick it up quickly as some sizes are already sold out.

Usually when I hear about a company collaborating with a musician my eyes do roll a little bit, because the ability to pen a song doesn’t necessarily mean that an artist can make a tee that will actually be worth buying, but I had higher hopes for Lovefoxxx as she used to be a graphic designer, and even designed a few t-shirts (I can’t find any examples, but here’s a
good article about her fashion sense), and I was not disappointed by what I found in the package. I like the tee, but I can’t help but feel it’s a little bland, especially considering it was designed by a woman that routinely wears
stuff like this on stage. However, it could look great paired up with something a bit more colourful.

This tee is part of Graniph’s ’soft t-shirt’ range, to be completely honest, I couldn’t tell a huge difference between the soft tee and the regular ones they sent me,they’re both pretty darned soft; the print quality was impressive too, good and soft. As I’ve warned in my previous Graniph posts, I may like them and their designs, but I do not care for their sizing, mostly because I can’t fit in any of the tees. Their size range goes from size SS to L and is definitely cut for a stereotypically small Japanese frame.
