Is it just me or is this tee kind of depressing? I think it’s something to do with the style in which the pandas are drawn, there’s no way you could draw them like that and it be part of a joyous design, which is unusual because milkshakes (or whatever it is that’s in the cup) are usually the causes of such happy occasions. However, despite finding it a bit creepy, I still like it as a t-shirt.

When I first saw this tee (
on Rumplo) I presumed that it would be by
Ugmonk, since ‘character with short message written in it’ is kind of their thing (I even saw an Ugmonk tee on
sale in the Philly branch of Urban Outfitters), but I know that no one owns that style, so
Random Objects can get a pass on this one since it’s a cool tee.

As I’ve been wading my way through the backlog in Google Reader I’ve seen this tee come up a number of times (I loved
Micah’s re-naming of the design as ‘Gundam Calling’), so you’ll have to forgive me for covering old ground, but with a tee this cool I’m sure you’ll let it slide.
For those of you that are wondering what all the fuss is about, the design is a modern take (futuristic, even) on The Clash’s iconic album cover for their 1979 LP London Calling. Except instead of a person smashing their guitar, it’s a robot, which is way more badass.
