austin ladder 444x640 Akomplices Summer Collection

After last week’s teaser, here’s a closer look:

THE LIFE COLLECTION from Akomplice really holds true to it’s title. The Summer range has pieces for all walks of life; from the Jaquard Sweater to the Flip Shorts, mixing a prestigious cut with a relaxed style. The tees are just as worldly. With a collaboration between Akomplice and Hope (www.hopeartists.org), 30% of all “Realer World T-Shirt” profits are given to impoverished communities in Africa. Akomplice also pays Homage to the lighter side of life by teaming up with the German based brand “Wemoto”. Together they produced “Bad Times”, a tee poking fun at most people’s outlook on the bad economy. The Life collection consists of: sweaters, shorts, polos, New Era hats, tee-shirts, and a skateboard deck. This is one of Akomplice’s most well rounded collections to date. Be on the look out for this new collection in your local Boutique or online at the Akomplice webstore.

I’ve put a fair chunk of the collection in the gallery below, but the pics don’t really show the items particularly well, so if you actually want to see the designs properly, head on over to the Akomplice site, or this page if you want to see everything without clicking around.

Get up to 70% off at 80s Purple Half Yearly Sale

It may surprise you to hear this, but I’m actually a bit of a fan of 80′s Purple, they’re constantly releasing new stuff, the brands they stock are impressive, and they have a tendency to put a lot of it on sale. They say this is a half-yearly sale, so I would assume that it is a bigger sale than usual, but I’m constantly being sent e-mails from them about coupon codes and sales, so there’s always a good deal to be had.

Men go here, women go here.

teecycle4 432x640 Teecycle takes the Pepsi Challenge

This might be Teecycle Tim, or it could be one of his friends from a photoshoot.

Okay, not that Pepsi Challenge (that post would indicate a slow news day), but rather PepsiCo’s “What’s Your Pitch?” contest. Teecycle, for those of you that are unaware, is a site that sells cool second-hand tees, and gives $1 from each sale to the River Revitalization Foundation, a Milwaukee based organisation, and the tees are only $7 to start with, so it’s not a token gesture. Clearly, Pepsi liked this (and why wouldn’t they?), and awarded Tim, Teecycle’s founder, a grant of $4,500 to keep on doing his good work. Tim hopes to use the grant to launch a line of tees by local artists, and has other plans for the future as well, such as a documentary about ethical clothing.

ow1255 bluzoom1 The Greater Good Hoodie by Obey at Karmaloop

This is one of those hoodies that isn’t necessarily a show-stopper, people aren’t going to be amazed by it, but at the same time I can’t imagine finding anyone that didn’t like it. I guess you could almost call it boring, but I’d like think of it more as being ‘restrained’.

Costiness=$62 Buy it at Karmaloop (and remember that you can get up to 20% off your purchase with the rep code AS7594, and support HYA in the process)

product preview adult eastside large 480x354 10% off at Glarkware for the guys, and Gossip Girl gets the &&& treatment

Glarkware released a coupon code last week that will give you 10% off their men’s clothing, I wish I could give it to the ladies as well, if you’ll pardon the expression (that I could obviously just re-write, but it made me laugh), the code is JUNE19. When do you think that code is valid until? Yes, of course, June 22nd, wait, what?

Like all 24 year-old guys I’m a big fan of Gossip Girl, if you are too, you might find the above tee awesome, y’know, if people on Gossip Girl ever wore t-shirts. I’m sure I should probably know this, but can anyone enlighten me as to what I should really be calling this style of tee? I’m pretty sure that ‘&&&’ is wrong One thing I just noticed that’s cool about Glarkware is that they offer all their tees in different formats, so you can go for a premium brand like American Apparel, or an unnamed brand if you’re counting the pennies, which is neat.

Up to 50% off all tees and long-sleeves at Paper Root

June 11, 2009

There’s not really much more that I can add after a title as informative as that one, except to say that Paper Root Clothing produce some great designs, and this is one of my favourite tees in my collection, so they’re well worth a look. Paper Root Clothing

Everybody Loves My Hair by Pitch @ MySoti

June 11, 2009

I was looking at this tee and thinking, “y’know, I’m sure I’ve written about this tee before.” And I was right, but this version is clearly an improvement upon the last attempt. Curiously, much like the previous post, this was written around the time of me having a hair cut (two days ago in this [...]
