*There is now also a Big Cartel shop for you to make your purchase at. Storenvy require you to signup to their marketplace (to prevent abuse of their system) and you also need a PayPal account to use them. Both store options have their merits, so you guys can pick whichever you prefer, either way you’ll be getting the same products for the same price.
To be completely honest, I don’t really know what to write about this shirt. I like it, a lot, as you would imagine, I’m very proud that I’ve finally got the new HYA logo onto a t-shirt and that it is available to you guys, but it does feel very strange promoting something I’m personally involved with, after four years of writing about other people’s t-shirts. Clearly this opinion is going to be pretty biased pretty biased, but I’m really impressed with the print quality on the tees, the colours really pop and the colourway works well together. Naturally, the tees are American Apparel, so the quality level is high, and you don’t have to worry about the conditions in the factory (though you may have some moral questions about Dov Charney, AA’s CEO). The HYA store is now open, it’s powered by Storenvy who have put together a very good storefront system (and printed the tees), so the billing all goes through them so you know your details are safe, but I will be the one shipping out the tees personally, which means that you might end up with some extra swag thrown in with your order, in addition to the free HYA pin badge that every order will receive.
Looking at this image, you may be forgiven for thinking that the tee is printed a bit off centre, it isn’t, the shirt was just rolled over a little bit when I was taking the pictures, I tried pulling it back but it just wasn’t having it, so please trust me that it looks right when you’re wearing it. The print run wasn’t huge, hopefully I wasn’t too modest with my numbers and those that want a tee will be able to get one, though I am already running low on small men’s shirts because it turns out that all my friends are either tiny, or fans of tight, tight t-shirts, so if you are also small I’d get on that pretty quick. If I sell out of any sizes this week I will put in another order to top up the inventory, so if your chosen size does sell out, please let me know and I will make sure to keep one in reserve when the next lot of stock comes in.
In terms of price, the tee is $21 for both men and women, and I haven’t increased the price for men’s XXL tees because I was once XXL and I was always frustrated that I couldn’t find cool XXL shirts on the high street, it was actually one of the reasons why I started Hide Your Arms, so I feel your pain my larger brothers. Shipping prices for tees are $3 for people in the UK, $4 for people in Europe, and $6 for anywhere else in the world, and there is a small discount on shipping for additional tees. I have also put button/badge packs into the store, you get 5 buttons, one each of the five different colourways that I had printed up. If you buy a tee and a pin badge pack you will still receive the free pin badge that comes with the tee, so you’d get six pin badges in total.
I think I’ve tested most areas of the store, and but if any of you find an issue when you’re having a look around please let me know and I’ll get right on it. So, go check the store out and please give me some feedback, positive, negative, all will be appreciated.
*I like the way that looks.
