James May’s ‘Man Lab’ Get Excited And Makes Things t-shirt

get excited and make things

I was sat on the sofa last night watching a documentary about David Attenborough and after it there was an ad for a new show hosted by James May of Top Gear fame called ‘Man Lab‘ which sounds quite a lot like Top Gear’s ridiculous challenges except even less to do with cars. That wasn’t the part that interested me though, it was James’ t-shirt in the ad, which you can see above. I’ve actually already written about the ‘Get Excited And Make Things’ tee that obviously riffs on the ‘Keep Calm And Carry On’ meme that has been beaten like a dead horse over the past few years.

I would presume that the Man Lab team picked up James’ t-shirt at howies since it’s a British production and they’re a British company, but I can’t find it for sale on their site, so I’ll have to point you towards Mule Design (who licensed the design to Howies anyway, so it’s exactly the same design) who have it on sale for $22.

This was always one of my favourite riffs on the ‘Keep Calm’ motto, but this wouldn’t be a comment if I didn’t also suggest that you take a look at one of my other faves… ‘When In Doubt Make Tea’ – http://www.mysoti.com/mysoti/designer/stuartwitts/product/67254/stuartwitts–tshirt–When-In-Doubt-Make-Tea

Saw this in a James May twitter alert feed and though I’d mention that the t-shirt was given to him by a fan. I also sent him a laminated print of the slogan too :). I’m thinking of perhaps getting him a Keep Calm and Put the Kettle on one with Union Jack background.

Shameless plug, but you can knock up your own “keep calm” style images (which you can then have printed onto t-shirts, mugs, etc) using my Keep Calm-o-matic website. Sadly I don’t have the ‘make things’ logo, but I’ve got most other variants of logos and images that seem to be doing the rounds…

Now all I have to do is get James to buy some kit through the site…
