Richmond Classics, a cool store in Bournemouth [video]

23.03.2011

I don’t think I’ve ever been to Bournemouth, but if I ever happen to be passing through I’ll be sure to check out Richmond Classics, though I’d likely be gravitating towards their streetwear offerings rather than the laddish brand they offer. Cool video, too.

Goodjoe’s Japan Earthquake Relief T-shirt

Thumbnail image for Goodjoe’s Japan Earthquake Relief T-shirt

Goodjoe (who give money to charity from every t-shirt sale anyway, not just during times of crisis) are another t-shirt company trying to raise funds to help with the monumental task of helping all those people struggling after the massive earthquake in Japan. The design is certainly wearable, containing numerous stereotypical images of Japan (the [...]

Design By Humans $15 t-shirt sale, not too shabby!

23.03.2011
Thumbnail image for Design By Humans $15 t-shirt sale, not too shabby!

I think sometimes we get spoiled by sales in the t-shirt community, when Threadless launch a $10 sale we act as if that’s the normal price to pay for a shirt, which makes this $15 sale by Design By Humans not look as impressive by contrast, even though $15 for their shirts is a really [...]

New goods (that are actually new) from Johnny Cupcakes

23.03.2011
Thumbnail image for New goods (that are actually new) from Johnny Cupcakes

Usually when I see a Johnny Cupcakes release there are a few new items, but it feels like there are also a lot of rehashes of old ideas and different colourways, which of course are ‘new’, but aren’t particularly original. This time around, unless I’m very much mistaken, we’re seeing quite a few more ‘new [...]

“Landmark” by Regan Smith Clarke

23.03.2011
Thumbnail image for “Landmark” by Regan Smith Clarke

Apparently, this design is based upon a closed-down steak restaurant that used to be in the Boston Celtics stadium called Scotch n’ Sirloin. Talk about a shirt for locals! Well, perhaps not just for locals, I like the design and I don’t care about the Celtics (76ers all the way, obviously), so perhaps it’s appeal [...]

Rumplo is back!

Thumbnail image for Rumplo is back!

When I found out that Rumplo was being sold by the original owners I got a bit excited, firstly because I loved the site when it was running and would be glad to see it back. Secondly, I had hoped that I might be the one that eventually bought it, but apparently running a moderately [...]

The Italian indie way to the Space…BORO.

22.03.2011

Cosmos, that is the (non) place of abstraction, suggestion, elevation. The space fascinates, stars can frighten (cit. Pink Floyd), the galaxies offer an horizon of harmony in wich the mind can break free from all the tight constrains of the reason, and she can fly, pure and undisturbed. BORO is an underground indie brand form [...]

“My Evil Plan To Destroy The Earth” a t-shirt for Pinky & The Brain at LaFraise

22.03.2011
Thumbnail image for “My Evil Plan To Destroy The Earth” a t-shirt for Pinky & The Brain at LaFraise

I am fully aware that each night Pinky & The Brain were not attempting to destroy the earth, but I’m fairly sure that if they had the means to destroy the earth, as this laFraise shirt is aiming to illustrate, then they’d pretty much be able to do what they want. Unsual to see a [...]

“Jun Fan Gung Fu Institute” A T-shirt for Bruce Lee fans

22.03.2011
Thumbnail image for “Jun Fan Gung Fu Institute” A T-shirt for Bruce Lee fans

I won’t pretend to understand this t-shirt, I don’t know a lot about martial arts master Bruce Lee except that he loved saying “Hi” to people, sometimes more than once. Apparently “Jun Fan Gung Hu Institute” was a martial arts school set up by Bruce in Seattle, and presumably Oakland and Los Angeles too. Not [...]

Mishka’s Spring Line is on sale ‘now’

Thumbnail image for Mishka’s Spring Line is on sale ‘now’

This is yet another post that is well past it’s sell by date, but fortunately for us t-shirts aren’t milk so they don’t go rotten that quickly. You may have noticed I’m currently posting a new article every two hours, I’m trying to clear the backlog, but it is a huge backlog, the site probably [...]

604Republic were on Attack Of The Show, ain’t that cool. [Video]

22.03.2011

604Republic on Attack of the Show from Sebastian Arciszewski on Vimeo. I like seeing brands that I know and like getting some time in the media spotlight (being on blogs and websites is cool, but TV feels a bit more special), so it was cool to see 604Republic getting some airtime on G4′s Attack Of [...]

“Re-Elect Nucky” A tshirt for Boardwalk Empire Fans

22.03.2011
Thumbnail image for “Re-Elect Nucky” A tshirt for Boardwalk Empire Fans

Anyone else watching Boardwalk Empire? I’m enjoying it but don’t really find myself that attracted to the show in the same way that I want to watch Mad Men and want each episode to last longer. I assume that’s because even though there’s quite a lot going on in the show it is a slow [...]

“Everybody Wants Some” Cool Chewbacca t-shirt from A Better Tomorrow

22.03.2011
Thumbnail image for “Everybody Wants Some” Cool Chewbacca t-shirt from A Better Tomorrow

I’m considering writing another epic Star Wars t-shirt list, because in the past year and a bit since I wrote the last one there have been a lot of really cool new Star Wars tees come onto the scene and it seems as if people can’t get enough of it. Anyway, totally sweet Chewbacca t-shirt, [...]

Rumours of Linty Fresh’s death have been greatly exaggerated.

Thumbnail image for Rumours of Linty Fresh’s death have been greatly exaggerated.

It wasn’t so long ago that I was musing over whether Eric Terry’s Linty Fresh had bitten the dust after several months of silence and little in terms of news from his store. Then at the weekend I randomly saw a message about LF belts on my twitter feed, I even retweeted it I was [...]

3 new designs from Simply Complicated

Thumbnail image for 3 new designs from Simply Complicated

When I say ‘new’ they carry the obvious HYA caveat that they’re a few weeks old (at least) and I’ve finally gotten around to posting them. I think my favourite of the three is the design that was inspired by the Krispy Kreme logo, which may well have more to do with my love of [...]

I kind of hate Peter Takis… but not really

22.03.2011
Thumbnail image for I kind of hate Peter Takis… but not really

Of course, I don’t really hate Peter Takis, the 16 (sixteen!) year old founder of Local Advancers, I hate myself, because he reminds me the when I was 16 I hadn’t got an awful lot done, I hadn’t even started writing about t-shirts, let alone selling them. He’s even written a damned book (a book!), [...]

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a hoodie like this one from Wrongwroks, have you ever seen a hoodie with a zip that goes sideways across the hood? Not sure that I’d actually want to wear it but there’s no denying that this is an interesting hoodie. Costiness=$130 Buy it at Wrongwroks

All tees $10 at Dead & Alive

22.03.2011
Thumbnail image for All tees $10 at Dead & Alive

I was looking at Dead & Alive’s store and for the life of me I couldn’t think what currency “SFr.” was, espeically since they’d advertised their sale as being $10 shirts and the tees were SFr. 10 as well. So I Googled it, of course, and quickly realised that it stand for Swiss Francs. I [...]

Get 25% off in the Enclothe Spring Cleaning Sale

21.03.2011
Thumbnail image for Get 25% off in the Enclothe Spring Cleaning Sale

I’ve been a fan of Enclothe since before I launched HYA, so it’s fair to say that Enclothe are one of the more dependable names in the indie clothing world, since Derek has been cranking out hide quality products for a long time now, and to get his goods for 25% off makes the deal [...]
