Gone swimming, taking the day off.

I don’t know how much most of you follow my tweets (and therefore my life), but over the past few months I’ve been swimming quite a lot in training for the Great North Swim, a 1-mile open water swimming event that takes place on the longest Lake in England, Lake Windermere (which is actually a mere and not a lake, but that’s a mere technicality).

I’m not the kind of guy to enter into a race without being pushed into it, but this is something I chose to do myself just to see if I could do it (I’m not doing it for charity either, so this isn’t a plea for donations), when I first got in the pool back in September last year I was really pushing myself to finish a kilometre and if I did I felt it the next day, now I can do a mile no trouble and the only reason I stop swimming is because I have somewhere else to be, so I’m quite proud of my progress in the water. Today will kind of be the culmination of that effort (I’ll have to set myself another target for next year), so I hope you’ll forgive me for taking the day off from posting about the latest goings on in the t-shirt world.
