Premium Line Released by Ugmonk

by Andy on April 26, 2012

ugmonk premium line

When I saw the word ‘premium’ associated with this latest Ugmonk release I expected the prices to be sky high, but it’s actually all pretty reasonable, with the crewneck coming in at $62, the henley $38 and the tee at $32. Sure, $32 is a bit more than we’re used to paying for a t-shirt, but it’s not the sticker shock I feared, it’s not your standard American Apparel shirt, and it does come boxed. They’re all really nice looking pieces, and I trust Jeff that he has added value to go along with the increase in price.

aliens out for ice cream t-shirt

Nice new design from Glennz, I can see how this will work well on a t-shirt, and he’s done a lot with a two-colour palette too.

Costiness=$15.95 Buy it at Glennz

snorg tees

That coupon was included in their newsletter, it looks generated so it’s possible that there’s only one use in it, but it’s worth trying to use it if you were considering ordering one of these new designs from snorgtees. There’s nothing stunning (to me) this week, but not a bad bunch by any stretch of the imagination.

Awesome All-Over Print Simpsons t-shirt

by Andy on April 26, 2012

simpsons all over print t-shirt

Let’s get this out of the way first of all, this shirt is currently sold out, I didn’t want to get anyone’s hopes up too much just to dash them at the end of the post. I’m generally not a huge fan of all-over prints like this one since they are just so busy (and the print is usually a bit off in places, as the printers acknowledge in this case too), but I’m happy to make an exception when it comes to this shirt since I really like the concept and as someone born in 1984 it pretty much goes without saying that The Simpsons is one of my favourite shows of all-time, I’m even in that small group that feels the last couple of seasons have signaled a return to form after they were in the wilderness for a little bit.

I wonder if anyone has ever made a Where’s Waldo/Wally (if you’re a Brit) shirt in this style, seems like a perfect fit to me.

Costiness=$29.99 Currently out of stock at MyTeeSpot

bert & ernie mario 8-bit t-shirt

Rapidly becoming one of my favourite pop culture t-shirt companies, have introduced a gaming section to their store and added a few new designs in the process. I’m not entirely sure if the Bert & Ernie Mario-themed design above is new, but there was no way that I wasn’t going to show it to you guys.

richt graffiti t-shirt

The London Vandal is a popular graffiti and urban sub-culture blog that I hadn’t heard of until they e-mailed me about this t-shirt, but I’ve taken a look around and I really like the site, definitely take a look if you’re interested in street art. The world of street art isn’t something that I’m particularly au fait with, I like it when I see stuff (especially Space Invaders), but I haven’t delved too deep into the scene simply because I can’t find the time between writing about t-shirts, trying to get Rigu off the ground, attempting to swim a sub-30 minute mile, and trying to maintain some semblance of a social life. Like many things, one day I intend to learn about it, but today is not that day, so I’ll just have to say that this shirt design by Richt is super and I like it.

The shirt is currently on pre-order for £20 (and that includes worldwide shipping, so it’s a great price) until May 31st, after which it will become a still pretty good value £25.

If you’re wanting to get in on the 24 hr sale action you’re going to have to get in quickly guys and gals! Here is my quite bedtime New Today / Back Today Threadless blogette.

New Today an possibly the most disappointing tee I have seen Threadless for a long while we have This Is My Life by Katie Campbell. Not really a great deal I can say about this monotone Threadless addition but there isn’t a great deal of these in girly fit if you’re after this.

Back Today is Who Invited the Herbivore by Gemma Correll which is quite cute and almost makes up for the dull newbie tee. Shows some meat loving dino’s at a BBQ with a herbivore saying he’s brought some hummus. Personally I love hummus.

stormtrooper academy t-shirt

“It is unknown who devised the Imperial Stormtrooper motto. What is known is that when literally interpreted by trainees, it produced a vast army of courageous but incredibly inaccurate Stormtroopers incapable of striking their mark in the most important situations.”

Nicely designed Star Wars t-shirt at RedBubble.

*UPDATE* This shirt is no longer available, but geekchic has lots of other design on his RB profile.

busy bee t-shirt

I would be lying if I said that the shirts at Purpleberry Blue were of my typical style, but that’s okay, partly because I don’t have to like everything, and partly because they only sell shirts for women and children. 10% of every shirt sold on Purpleberry Blue goes to help Crohn’s disease research, and that’s not just some charity that they’re picked out of the air, it means something. Will, the guy that started PB, suffered from Crohn’s disease from the age of 12 to 19, I don’t know how old he is now but I get the feeling that he is one of the fortunate one’s who have been able to get over the disease, and because he feels lucky to have his health back he wants to help others. I respect that a lot and wish him the best of luck.

tshirt laundry sale

Nice deal from Tshirt Laundry this week, IIRC $12 represents a $7 saving on their usual shirt price so it is a decent saving. I think it’s fair to say that the X-Men inspired design is the pick of the new releases this week.

Calavera III by Wotto at Design By Hümans

by Matt on April 25, 2012

Post image for Calavera III by Wotto at Design By Hümans

Wotto + Day of the Dead = awesome

I know first hand, cause I wear his beautiful artwork on a daily basis. In the past 15 months, I have been a part of two restaurant openings, both of which are Mexican and Day of the Dead themed. When I got hired to open the first one, Cantina Feliz, I was wearing wotto’s “Dead Head” hoodie from Tilteed and the owners asked me, “Did you wear that on purpose?” I hesitated, said no, then yes. Long story short, I brought on Wotto to design two staff t-shirts for each restaurant which have now become conversation pieces at both locations. La Calaca Feliz, the newer of the two, has been doing very well since it’s opening in January 2012. If you live around Philly and like Mexican, I definitely recommend checking them out. And if you come in, ask for me :)

But what I really wanted to mention was Wotto’s shirt of the day at Design By Hümans. “Calvavera”, which means skull in Spanish, is Mr. Watkins 12th win, putting him up there with the most printed designers at DBH. His doodle style and the Mexican Dia De Los Muertos art go perfect together. This print looks great on the charcoal heather DBH premium blend, as well as the cute blonde model pictured above. (wotto – hook me up!) Only $15 if you buy it today and well worth it.

Nice mixture of tees on the New Today / Back Today explosion for today and yesterday although they are mostly a mixture of red & grey but luckily I have a soft spot for those colours. Also they are having a  24 hr $10 sale so you should swoop for bargain prices on newbie tees.

New Today for yesterday is a tee which I particularly like on Threadless, I always like new cat tee editions, I still need to purchase Celestial Cat for myself! Cat Shirt by Justin White is a funky red tee that has a feel of that famous Le Chat Noir poster.

Back Today tee from yesterday is The Beetles by Alex Solis. Lets face it, it’s not one of the most clever ideas on Threadless, plenty of people could of came up with this concept but it’s been executed so very well.

New addition yesterday, another grey one. Basically a massive scary robot with a teeny tiny smiley face. It kinda has a transformers feel until you see the wee face. Probably my fave to the last 4 new tees but I’m not really sure why. This is Joybot by Jack Rogers.

OK so I have never watched this programme so the tee design is lost on me but if you’re a fan of Twin Peaks, Welcome to Twin Peaks by Robert Farkas is probably a tee which you deffo require in your Threadless collection!

Don’t forget about the $10 sale guys! You need to get in there!
