My name is Curtis Bickham; I am A recovering personal trainer and founder SWEATFIRE T-Shirts.
In February 2011 I sought a gift I could give my clients to make sure they worked hard when I wasn’t around. The SWEATFIRE T-shirt was such a hit that I no longer train. Now I’m learning a new craft – t-shirt printing.
The shirts harness the power of sweat.
Two sweat respondent graphics are printed on the fabric of the shirt.
The graphic that you see on the dry shirt is a white sweat drop. This graphic becomes transparent when people exercise and work-up a sweat – revealing a hidden graphic (a flame). This flame is only visible when the shirt is totally saturated with sweat.
While other active wear companies are racing to find the newest way to get rid of sweat, I am embracing the body’s natural physical activity monitor.
SWEATFIRE Tees have taken the guesswork out of exercise intensity.
SWEATFIRE T-shirts give exercisers a tangible goal allowing immediate feedback on workout intensity. The motto of the shirt is ‘AIM FOR THE FLAME’, because the second graphic on the shirt is a flame – hence the term SWEATFIRE.
My mission is get people moving through ‘inspiration by perspiration’.
Additionally, the shirt is a great conversational piece and a fascinating marketing tool for boot camps, personal trainers and group fitness classes.
Andy: Personally, as someone that gets rather hot in the gym, I’d rather wear a technical material that will keep me cooler for longer, but I see plenty of people wearing regular cotton shirts, and this is a great idea for people at the gym, even though it might sound a little bit gross.
