Because they actually took an interest in the subject?

Think of it like this, had you sent me an e-mail about your brand I might have written a post about the shirts, which would have received much more traffic and attention than your comments, but since you chose this method of marketing I’d be pretty opposed to writing about you now. You’re looking at a very small and short term gain at the expense of developing actual relationships which would be beneficial for you in the long term.
