Johnny Cupcakes Notorious B.I.G. vs Tupac t-shirt battle

by Andy on May 16, 2013

I quite like the designs on this East vs. West ‘battle’ at Johnny Cupcakes, but I can say that I’m particularly impressed that they say it will take 6-8 weeks before they’re shipped. Up to 2 months for them to print package and post two designs? Am I the only one that thinks that’s a bit poor when you’re paying $40 for a t-shirt?

I think Johnny wants to underpromise and overdeliver here – there’s a lot involved in getting tees made and shipped, particularly if you’re getting tags sewn in and know you’ll have (at least) a few hundred orders to juggle. Plus, this way, if some unfortunate thing delays the production (which I just had happen with my preorders), he can still be within the turnaround time and not have any unhappy customers because he was totally up front.

They actually took that long because they were made yet! They were on PREORDERED! learn your facts before you judge a company!

Oh come on, was your takeaway from my post that I didn’t know it was a pre-order? Despite there being the word pre-order on one of the images, and my complaint being that it should take a company of Johnny Cupcakes size 6-8 weeks to print, package and ship two designs, I felt that was too long, and I don’t really understand why they felt the need to make it a pre-order in the first place since that’s quite an unusual move for JC. Also, I’d suggest you do a search for Johnny Cupcakes on this site, I’ve been writing about him/them for a long time, so maybe you should learn your facts before you judge a website.
