Abuv have some nice stuff, and they help charity too!

HYA 4 Abuv have some nice stuff, and they help charity too!
HYA 3 Abuv have some nice stuff, and they help charity too!
HYA 2 Abuv have some nice stuff, and they help charity too!
I got an e-mail from John at Abuv almost a month ago, and it’s taken me until now to get around to writing about them. That may provide some comfort to those of you that have e-mailed me an I haven’t got back to you yet. I say yet because I do intend to reply to everyone, there’s just only so many hours in the day, you know?

Abuv aren’t just a company that makes t-shirts (4 designs in at the moment, one of them is not pictured), webbing belts and bracelets, they’re setting themselves apart by offering 10% of all sales (not just 10% of profits) to charity, so if you make a purchase with them then you know precisely how much of your order will be going to charity. I’m not a bracelet wearer, but John from Abuv makes the bracelets by hand himself, and I think it’s cool that there is that personal connection to the items that they’re selling. I know that there’s always a connection when I talk about tee brands because they have the designs made or design them themselves and then get a printer company to produce finish product (it’s a smaller and smaller percentage of brands printing their own shirts these days), but it feels a little different with the idea of handmade bracelets.

The range available in their store isn’t massive at the moment, but everyone has to grow from something and I look forward to see what they come up with in the future.

Exclusive NesBuckle.com coupon for $10 off!

by Andy on December 15, 2010

nes buckle coupon code

Taking a short break from tees here, the guy who runs NESBuckle (the belt buckle for nerds) sent me an e-mail giving you guys a $10 off coupon code for NESBuckle.com, which as HYA regulars would probably guess is hideyourarms. The buckles, which are made of genuine NES controllers, cost $29.95 regularly, so $10 off is a good saving. I actually have a NES sat under the TV in the office right now, it doesn’t get much play anymore, but then again I don’t spend a huge amount of time playing videogames, my Xbox gets used far more as a media centre, dammit I’m old.

Buy a Boston Cream belt, destroy breast cancer!

by Andy on October 26, 2010

in belts,Charity

boston cream breast cancer bustin' belt

I thought that “destroy breast cancer” had a bit more punch to it than “support a breast cancer charity.” This isn’t a belt blog, that would be too niche even for me, but when it comes to a brand trying to help a charity I’m a bit of a sucker. Apparently October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month, and whilst the month may almost be out, Boston Cream are still trying to do their bit, and all proceeds from the sale of these pink $10 belts will be to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. We can expect to hear more from Boston Cream in the next few weeks too, as their Winter collection will be dropping on November 17th.

Seventh.Ink’s Fall Line preview looks, welll… I’ll let you decide

by Andy on September 3, 2010

seventh ink t-shirts

I know that title might make you think that I’m not impressed with Seventh.Ink‘s fall line, but I like it, I justed to try and show some kind of objectivity with one of my advertisers. I would write about them whether they were or weren’t helping to keep the server running and the HYA jet filled with supermodels, but HYA is a shill-free zone, so with posts like this I would prefer to just give you the facts and let you make up your own mind. They are being quite ambitious though, the three designs you can see above are being made available (when the line is released on Monday) as tee, hoodies, and belts. Read more about the new line on their blog, and check out all the previews in the gallery.

Deals & News: Lots of brands, read the post and you’ll know who.

emailmain7 480x297 Deals & News: Lots of brands, read the post and youll know who.

This is likely to be the last deals post of the year because I’m taking Mrs. HYA (we aren’t actually married, but saying ‘my girlfriend’ doesn’t sound quite as fun) to London for the weekend, and tomorrow is looking like it’s going to be a busy one in terms of non-fun non-tee related activity, and then there’s not much point posting next week because of Christmas jollity and friends coming back to the area for the festive season, though if something big comes up then I’ll try and let you know.

So, 20% off at PalmerCash today and tomorrow with the coupon code yeah.

271 480x480 Deals & News: Lots of brands, read the post and youll know who.

It’s sale time at krudmart, with a nigh-on-ridiculous 70% off the older stock, and a rather more sensible though still greatly appreciated 20% off new arrivals (providing you spend more than $75).

224090 10 Tees Email 480x182 Deals & News: Lots of brands, read the post and youll know who.

The Threadless festive fun continues with $10 tees for the rest of the week (and if you want them to get even cheaper remember that me and Adam from Tee Directory are selling Threadless Gift Certificates on the cheap, also, and this is seriously the first time I’ve realised this, gift certificates could make good gifts for Christmas!).

junky xmas 480x76 Deals & News: Lots of brands, read the post and youll know who.

I don’t mention Junky Tees very often but they do have some wearable tees that you’d probably enjoy paying 25% less for with the coupon code XMAS.

4260 88400957379 5949442379 1758362 7991355 n 480x319 Deals & News: Lots of brands, read the post and youll know who.

Not holiday related but money off is money off, Dressed By Danni (the halterneck hoodie People) launched a new website recently and if you’re making your first order you can receive a 10% discount with the coupon code FIRST10.

36 480x319 Deals & News: Lots of brands, read the post and youll know who.

30% off sitewide at Karmaloop with the coupon code HAL30, or the code ZUUL30. Is there really any reason why Karmaloop have so many coupons, and not just at this time of year, it feels like they drop a new one every day.

holidaydeals news 480x156 Deals & News: Lots of brands, read the post and youll know who.

Kind of an odd offer from DBH, instead of going site-wide they’re putting 3 tees a day on sale, but they’re going lower than usual and those three tees can be picked up for $10 a piece. This deal will be running until Christmas Day, so keep checking back to see if any of your favourite designs come up on sale.

Pyknic Clothing Come in and smell the shirts. 1260998380297 480x279 Deals & News: Lots of brands, read the post and youll know who.

Pyknic have got a 20% off sale going on until tomorrow, eat up!

paperroot 463x640 Deals & News: Lots of brands, read the post and youll know who.

Paper Root Clothing:

We’re running our final big sale of the year with some real craziness. 40% everything for the next three days, and that includes our newest sweatshirts we just released.

squishi 480x480 Deals & News: Lots of brands, read the post and youll know who.

I really wish I didn’t have to post this, but unfortunately Squishi’s tees are all on sale for £9.99 each. You’re probably thinking that Squishi’s tees being on a sale would be a good thing, but you’d be wrong, as they’re on sale because Squishi are going to be closing down when all the stock is gone. That sucks, because I was glad there was someone like Squishi around in Britain, but at least they’re closing because the print side of the business is going well, which will hopefully mean that Brit companies have an alternative to outsourcing to America to get their shirts printed.

Strange Ways 1260999433167 479x139 Deals & News: Lots of brands, read the post and youll know who.

It won’t sound like a sale to our American chums but in British terms this is a sale. Strange Ways have knocked their tees (all three shown above) down to £15, with £1 shipping in the UK, £2 worldwide, try beating that on the high street!

Vig Tees Funny T Shirts Cool Vintage T Shirts Unique Graphic T Shirts 1260999669216 480x433 Deals & News: Lots of brands, read the post and youll know who.

As you can see from that image, free shipping ANYWHERE ON EARTH when you buy 2 or more tees from Vig Tees. Sounds good, but the martians are gonna be pissed.

beandip 480x359 Deals & News: Lots of brands, read the post and youll know who.

The e-mail from Bean Dip had the subject “Free Shipping // New Tees”, so I presume they’re offering free shipping. I know, it’s like I’m Sherlock Holmes or something.

nostar Deals & News: Lots of brands, read the post and youll know who.

This coupon from No Star will be expiring tomorrow, so hop to it.

wiftees 480x118 Deals & News: Lots of brands, read the post and youll know who.

Get 10% off at wiftees with the coupon code hideyourarms.

seriouseats 480x96 Deals & News: Lots of brands, read the post and youll know who.

My favourite food blog, Serious Eats, have released a list of tees for foodies. Well, I wouldn’t call it a list because it’s only got 11 items on it, to me it’s not really a list unless you question the will to live whilst putting it together and then realising it probably wasn’t worth it since it wasn’t about Star Wars (me? bitter?).

popjunkie 480x288 Deals & News: Lots of brands, read the post and youll know who.

PopJunkie and their weird lapdancing clip-art are going to keep their sale going until the end of the year, so no need to rush then!

eiorakesandstrays 480x322 Deals & News: Lots of brands, read the post and youll know who.

EIO and Rakes & Strays are going to be turning their regular postage into Special Delivery in the UK from now until December 23rd so that y’all will be getting your tees to your loved ones in time for Chrimbo.

MONSTAR ONLINE MASTHEAD 480x476 Deals & News: Lots of brands, read the post and youll know who.

Summer Sale at Linty Fresh (and a couple of new colourways)

01.07.2009

Linty Fresh (y’know, the guy that’s going to invade China) have got a summer sale going on from now until August 1st, that means you’ve technically got a while to grab a bargain, but with LF being so popular you should probably get on it sooner rather than later. Belts are $12, tees are from [...]

Buy a NES belt buckle because you aren’t ironic enough yet.

17.04.2009

You what’s cool about this belt buckle? It’s ACTUALLY made of an ACTUAL NES controller. On the downside, it costs $30, which may be expensive, I don’t know how much a belt buckle usually costs since I’m not a cowboy (usually), but on the plus side it does mean that I’ve got $120 worth of [...]

Beetnik Aesthetic’s Skyline belts are back in stock!

18.03.2009

This may not be a belt blog (now there’s a niche!), but you know what? It’s Friday night, so to hell with it! Also, I think I’m going to NYC tomorrow, which is home to a mighty-fine skyline, so this post almost makes sense. Costiness=$10 (bargain!) Buy it at Beetnik Aesthetics

Off-topic, I know, but I only brought two belts with me to Philadelphia so I’m ever so tempted to make an order for one of these at the moment. If you pick one (or more, I guess), they’re on sale now for $15 a pop and you’ll get free shipping too. Monstar Clothing’s Belts

Say Hello to DeKay Clothing

04.12.2008

Just in case you still have room for another big-print skull/zombie tee in your wardrobe, DeKay Clothing may well be the people to fill that gap. There’s only three designs up in their Big Cartel store at the moment, but all three are great images, and the print quality looks impressive too. DeKay Clothing

Say Hello To Aplomb Clothing

05.11.2008

This is a pretty cool brand, I can’t lie, none of the tees are totally blowing me away, but they’re all really solid designs that I’d be happy to wear, so they’re certainly consistent. However, I do utterly love this belt. Oh, and if you’re looking for an election angle to the posts today, Aplomb [...]

Newvember at Linty Fresh

03.11.2008

Just a heads up, I’m going to be using the term Newvember all month, or at least until I stop finding it amusing. Linty Fresh have released a couple of new tees (Cyril the Cyclone & Fish, etc.) for November, and also the very exciting concept of the ‘bundle box‘. In a bundle box, you [...]

Fuzzy Ink’s Spooktacular Sale

31.10.2008

I’ve never really been all that into Halloween, but apparently its gaining in popularity back home, and the French seem to be big fans of putting decorations up, though I haven’t seen a single carved pumpkin yet (possibly because the fruit & veg here starts rotting after a day or so). Friends of the mustache [...]
