We first took a look at Trucker Deluxe on Wednesday night and they have been kind enough to offer HYA readers 20% off everything in their store (except for sale items, which is understandable). I’ve included a few pictures above to show the kind of stuff they have in the store but it’s quite hard to impress upon you just how wide the range of brands that they stock is, name just about any streetwear company and they’ll stock something by them. Definitely worth checking out, especially since we’ve got such a good discount from them.

The coupon code is HYA20 and I don’t think that it has an expiry date, but I can’t guarantee that so if you see something you like, pick it up!

I decided to write this post following a question on my twitter (@ashjadejones) asking if I knew of any decent tees in sizes 3XL and larger.   Almost straight away some one replied saying they had the same problem with finding decent tees in bigger sizes, so I thought it might be worth looking into and sharing on Hide Your Arms.

There are a lot of sites selling the standard offensive/comedy slogan printed tees in larger sizes, but as I find them boring and uninspiring I have tried to find a selection of some of the best (in my opinion) that are available in sizes XXXL and larger.

Johnny Cupcakes

I really like the designs on Johnny cupcakes, the shipping Is quite a lot if you’re outside of the US ($15 to UK) – but they do have a UK store in London if you are able to visit in person.  They go up to sizes 3XL. This tee is priced at $40.

I must admit I was reluctant about including ‘Got Ink’ as I don’t like recommending a company if I have personally had a negative experience, (sent them a few emails a while back and never got a response, which makes me question their customer service.)

However, they have got some pretty awesome t-shirts!  They go up to sizes 3XL and are reasonably priced, this ‘Octo-sailor’ tee is priced at £22.99.

Regular Hide Your Arms readers will have spotted our recent posts highlighting a few of the brands exhibiting at Margin London on the 10th & 11th February.

With just six days to go until the show opens to buyers and press, here’s a preview of some more of the labels making their tradeshow debut at the exhibition.

We thought we’d better not post any more in-depth profiles otherwise the Hide Your Arms crew wouldn’t have any exclusives to report on when they visit the show!

LATIN LOVER, a new t-shirt label from Columbia for men & women, with great illustrations & graphics:

Joe at Branded Baron dropped two new stunningly fresh graphic tees for the fall season. The first t-shirt on the left is entitled “Hawk” and the other t-shirt is called “Gamer 2.0″. In my personal opinion I think both concepts are really well done but the “Hawk” t-shirt happens to be my favorite of the two. Each T-shirt is selling at 24.99 at brandedbaron.com.

One of my favourite things about WLF is that they seem to do some much more with the licenses they have (yep, all their tees are legit) than most other places, their artwork appeals to fans of the TV show or movie, rather than just slapping the logo on a shirt and being done with it.

It’s not a clothing company bringing the goods this time, but instead, small Bristol based design studio, Fiasco Design. In celebration of their love of bikes the guys there have created this super simple (yet super awesome) limited edition tee.

With only 50 available and with them costing only 10 of your English pounds, if bikes (or very nice tees) are your thing then i’d be snapping this up!

Design By Hümans recently held a contest to design a shirt themed around the new Batman movie: The Dark Knight Rises. I was kind of upset when I first heard about this, cause one of the things that really attracts me to DBH is their complete lack of pop culture designs. But when they announced the 3rd place winner today, I was pleasantly surprised. “Arise” by SilentOp incorporates the Batman theme in an awesome way. I may even have to buy this one! Congrats to SilentOp on his third place win in the contest and coincidentally his third print at Design By Hümans. The Top three winners (first and second will be announced on Thursday and Friday) were chosen by Christopher Nolan – Director/Writer/Producer for The Dark Knight Rises and Emma Thomas – Producer.

An inspiring night requires an inspiring shirt design… The theme of this year’s Vinyl Thoughts event was Next Level. A retro video game tribute, so I had to create a shirt using one of my favorite games growing up, the classic Donkey Kong! With the help of Alexa Machine this shirt printing went perfect.

To line up a four color print on the press, you gotta tape one of the films to the pallet in the same spot you want all the prints. So you can line up all the screens in the press to that film, this is the basic registration of the print.

You will be able to see the film thru the negative space of the emulsified screen, and just gotta line them up perfectly and tighten the screws on the press…

Once all four screens are taped off on the back and loaded with the correct ink color, the printing begins!

This four station, six color manual press is perfect for two people to print at once. Just gotta print the colors in the correct order and communicate so no mistakes are made. Check out the final color printing

Then you get perfect prints like this! I wanted to design something with huge letters, so the levels of the Donkey Kong board were a perfect large surface area.

Hot off the press, I picked up the shirts and rushed over to the event where all the shirts sold out that night! I am reprinting some more shirts now, so they will be available on my Sleepy Dan web shop this week.

The two color back design showed off all the sponsors for this year’s event. The show was packed all night and has become such a hit for the up and coming Dallas vinyl arts culture.

I’m so proud to be part of this event and becoming a contributing vinyl designer. If you check out pics of the event and custom vinyls, I created a tribute to Mike Tyson’s Punch Out by creating two vinyl characters Bald Bull and King Hippo!
