It’s pretty rare streetwear behemoth Karmaloop will sell a design they’ve produced themselves (I know they do on occasion, but mostly they sell other brands), but it’s also pretty rare that a massive earthquake and tsunami hits Japan, so it’s hardly surprising that they stepped up and produced a shirt that they’ll be giving away 100% of the profits on to the Red Cross.

This is pretty huge, I know I don’t mention Karmaloop as much as back in the day (though I probably should, good clothes at good prices, and good service in my experience), this was too big of a competition not to mention, even if I am catching it a bit late.

There’s actually several competitions going on at Karmaloop, mostly scavenger hunts, for Freeway’s beard, that dog, and that lady that seems to have forgotten half her clothing. I can’t actually find a page for the $5000 gift card giveaways, but I think that’s because as I write this it hasn’t actually been announced yet, though judging by their tweets I think it’s going to be another scavenger hunt. Keeping and eye on their Twitter feed is probably the best way to get the jump on the big prize, otherwise the other three scavenger hunts (and the daily draw from Def Jam) are already live.

This morning I stayed in bed for more than an hour just because it was warm in bed and cold out of it, so it is most definitely hoodie season, meaning I had to check out Karmaloop for something to warm me up (even though their shipping costs to the UK are pretty high). I know that this hoodie is simple, but the contrast drawstring is a nice touch and overall it looks a classy product, something to show off a crazy t-shirt underneath it.

This is likely to be the last deals post of the year because I’m taking Mrs. HYA (we aren’t actually married, but saying ‘my girlfriend’ doesn’t sound quite as fun) to London for the weekend, and tomorrow is looking like it’s going to be a busy one in terms of non-fun non-tee related activity, and then there’s not much point posting next week because of Christmas jollity and friends coming back to the area for the festive season, though if something big comes up then I’ll try and let you know.

Even though the chances of me wearing this are slim to none (and not just because this is in womens sizes), I still get a little bit giddy when I see a hoodie that has ears on it that isn’t for kids, I think it’s because I know that an adult shouldn’t really be wearing something quite so silly, even Karmaloop‘s usually mirthless model can’t help but smile at this piece.
