I like lookbook videos, especially when they come from brands that I haven’t heard of before, it’s a really good visual introduction and helps give a good feeling for what the brand are about. However, in this case it also brought up a fairly large error from the outset which distracted me for the rest of the video. Just after the title splash we can see the front of one of their new hats (best view at 10 seconds), with Rawvault in large text and the phrase “Get What Your Given” embroidered on it. Unfortunately, I haven’t made the typo in that phrase, they have, as if should be “Get What You’re Given.” As the range is not yet on sale on their site (though lots of other cool stuff is from their own brand and others, nice to see The Quiet Life in there) hopefully that means it’s samples in the lookbook and they can have the correct spelling on the full run because I wouldn’t buy something if I knew there was an error on it as Iwouldn’t want to wear something that would lead to know-it-alls like myself correcting the spelling on my clothing. Or maybe it’s meant to be spelled wrong, that seems like something that cool brands might do.

MKNK dropped hoodies & hats a couple of weeks ago, and to help promote that release they’ve put together this pretty cool video showing off their new goods and some moves that 90s Andy would have described as ‘radical’. They also took a few new lookbook photos at the same time which you can find below.

I don’t really understand what’s going on in this video, but I do quite like it.

I don’t want to spoil the reveal at the end, but for a second that I thought it was the real thing. Pretty cool way to promote a company that offers movie-inspired t-shirts.

It’s all logo all the time from S.O.O.N and you guys know how I feel about that (tough to get people interested in your brand that aren’t already personally interested in the founders), but at least they’ve got a strong look about them and the logo is pretty cool so they can just about get away with it. Nice looking beanies too. Looking forward to seeing more from them.

I really like the idea of ThreadsTV, I wish we could do something similar for Hide Your Arms but the amount of time it takes to product videos like this is just beyond us at the moment, maybe one day that will change, but for now enjoy ThreadsTV and their first episode of the year, some good stuff in there.
