Marshall Artist Spring 2012 drops at Street Casuals

I’m not nearly cool enough to have heard of Marshall Artist before Street Casuals dropped me an e-mail about them, but I like their style, everything is very clean and wearable. I could natter on for a while but to be honest the SC press release about the goods is far too well put together for me to ignore, so you can find that after the break.

Marshall Artist spring summer 2012 collection is now available at streetcasuals.com. With Marshall Artist’s signature spin on modern British tailoring, this collection is set to be the strongest yet and is packed with some great pieces and nods to it’s British heritage.
The outerwear, always a strong area for Marshall Artist has some great new designs and re-workings of classic styles. The Tailored Golf Blazer is based on a traditional 1930′s golfing blazer and is a must have piece for Spring 2012. The blazer is constructed from a medium wale brush corduroy and features 2 large bellow pockets, a small leather welted ticket pocket, reinforced canvas shoulder details and a slanted chest pocket with button flap.
In addition we also have the classic Nautical jacket, a staple in the Marshall artist collection and this season made in a indigo waxed chambray fabric.This classic vintage sailing jacket has a centre front storm flap concealing a full length zip and features several beautifully finished leather details. The Nautical jacket also features metal cantilever clasps at the chest and is constructed from a summer weight waxed cotton chambray fabric.
The nautical theme continues in the knitwear collection with the sailing cardigan a fully-fashioned shawl collar cardigan made from 100% cotton. This piece features vintage buttons on the centre front placket and a canvas patch pocket and single welt pocket at the lower front, a shawl collar and two contrast stripes on the sleeve.
In the jersey section we feature the classic sweatshirt, aptly named as it is a vintage washed fleece sweater, a Marshall artist classic for spring 2012. This piece is constructed from unbrushed french terry cotton and features a leather welt stash pocket on the chest, leather branding and embroidered eyelets.
In the t-shirt section we highlight the Naval gym t-shirt a classic jersey tee with excellent attention to detail. The t-shirt features contrast cover stitching details under the arms, a concealed woven patch pocket at the inside of the lower front body and a small button placket at the throat.
Finally we have the very timely release of the vintage Sherlock t-shirt, constructed from super soft cotton jersey and features a floral silhouette print of the British icon Sherlock Holmes and finished in a vintage wash for a worn in look.

I like the concept but I’m not too into the style of the artwork in this Pcamn x Mario mashup tee at TeeFury today. It looks more like a comic (and a well illustrated one, let me be clear) than a t-shirt design.

Oooooh, political shirt from Qwertee today, very cool, very timely.

Another old shirt from Tilteed, I’d love to know when they’ll be dropping some new designs.

Nice colourway on today’s Stupidhurts.us robot t-shirt.

I’m glad this has the word ‘Firefly’ written on it otherwise I’d have had to hunt out the reference on this RIPT tee.

I love Zoidberg, so I think that this Futurama tee at TeeMinus24 is pretty nifty.

I love lunch, it’s one of the few times in the day that I’m not staring at a screen. This shirt is referring to the film Wall Street, so I can only assume that 24Tee are hoping to pick up sales from the 1%!

Another oldie from Loviu, cool though.

Yes, it is more than a little pricey at £95, but sometimes things just aren’t cheap and this is one of those times, and you should know by now that I like the idea of something in a conservative colourway (that still looks damn good) covering over a bright tee, juxtaposition my friends!

I don’t think you need to be French to know what this label (which is actually part of the No Star Clothing group) is called in English. I may have derided Slut clothing earlier in the week for their choice of name (surprisingly they haven’t thanked me for that review yet), but with La Merde I can see how it works, their name is French, and therefore classy, but the translation is pretty cheeky, which is a lot like their clothing.

The Johnny Cupcakes Juggernaut rolls on with yet more “hey, that’s not a t-shirt” items. I wasn’t too into the ties that were released recently, but then again, I write about t-shirts, so when would I ever wear a tie? This windbreaker though, this I can get into, I love the colourway, and the subtle cupcake camo makes it interesting without being over-the-top on the bakery-love.

The page says that this fine looking jacket is on pre-order, but also that it will be in their office by September 25th, so either it’s available now and they haven’t updated the page, or there has been some kind of delay in production, either way, it’s a good looking, understated jacket.

Yay, a waterproof jacket in my favourite colourway (as if you couldn’t tell just by looking at the design of this site). I think I might prefer it if the jacket were a bit cleaner without the two big pockets on the front, but it still looks good.

This jacket is in no way cheap ($440), and I kind of suspect that the model is wearing at least a size too small for them, but damn it looks good. I was trying to think where I’d heard the name Matthew Izzo before, and then it struck me, Matthew Izzo had a shop along my walk to the office in Philly. I never actually went into the store, but my brother did, you have to be buzzed in (the doors are locked) and he found sweaters that were more than $600, so this jacket is actually a bit of a bargain!
