Well the title says it all, POW! Entertainment, founded by Stan Lee (yes THE Stan Lee, comic book icon) is teaming up with tee-a-day site, ShirtPunch.com, to bring you limited edition merchandise! Even better, the series of designs will all be Stan Lee inspired and will be sold throughout the year of 2013 on ShirtPunch.com! Another added bonus, these designs will be sold for only a 24-hour period – after that they are retired and never printed again. I say this is a bonus because that clearly means these designs will be so unique and limited, possibly making these some of the most rare Stan Lee collectables out there since they are only available for purchase in that 24-hour time… and who doesn’t like getting their hands on limited edition merchandise, especially ones featuring a legend like Stan!

It’s funny, I’ve made it pretty clear that I really dislike cereal box designs, but I rather like comic book cover designs even though they share a lot of the same elements, especially when they’re based on an actual comic book. It’s probably because the artwork made for a cover is meant to have an immediate impact and tell the story without needing any explanation, so it works well for a shirt. I like the way that 80sTees have captioned this picture as well, “Meet Chad. He is 5′ 7″ tall and weighs 182 pounds. He is wearing size Large.” It seems a little silly but that’s actually great information for people trying to make a best guess on how a shirt is going to fit them, it would be great to see more people giving this kind of info with their product photos.

Not a bad week at Tshirt Laundry, but I do wonder who is going to buy them. Releasing a Star Trek design now makes perfect sense, but are people really that bothered about the use of lens flares? Similarly, the ‘Installation Wizard’ joke is a bit of fun, but who is going to buy it, have they produced a design that is just aimed at sysadmins?

As ever with these competitions from WeLoveFine.com there are quite a lot of winners, so if you like X-MEN then chances are you’ll see something you like above. The Grand Prize winner is ‘United’ the circular crest design at the top of the mockups, and that sends designer Antony Rozwadowski on a trip to Comic-Con in San Diego which is a pretty special prize. It’s interesting looking at all the designs because it shows the restrictions that an official competition bring, as someone that has never read the original comics and has all of his knowledge from the movies the characters sometimes look a bit off to what I’d expect, of course Wolverine doesn’t look like Hugh Jackman, because using Hugh Jackman’s likeness would be another license to deal with. It doesn’t ruin any of the designs, it’s just an interesting insight into the world of licensing in the tee world, one that a lot of tee a day sites probably don’t give a damn about.

Soooo, Jurassic Park was released in 1993, TWENTY YEARS AGO, anyone else feel old right now?

It’s good to hear from Santa Carla Boardwalk because I do like their concept of ‘in-world’ movie t-shirts, I know there are other people that do it but I am a bit of a sucker for this style when it comes to po culture tees. They’ve also updated their website with a fresh new look that I like, mostly because they appear to be using the same theme for their website that I am with the HYA shop, great minds think alike!

Ok so it’s not a t-shirt! It’s an odd thing to see on a t-shirt blog right? However despite the fact I wasn’t too enthused about the products based on seeing them on the ‘Not On The High Street‘ website, since I received my necklace from Button and Bean I simply haven’t had it off. It is something that I already know is going to be of immense sentimental value to me. You can also purchase all sorts of unique, one of a kind, special gifts from Not On The High Street.

I had a choice, and I opted for this necklace because it was sizeable enough that it would be able to get a good feel for the quality and also I wanted something that was going to be robust and I could wear it for long periods of time, and I’d be able to wear it for work.

There is a pretty cool selection of products, there is jewellery, cuff-links  keyrings, bookmarks, tree decorations that can all be personalised with fingerprints (or pawprints) of your loved ones.

After you order you get a little cast with which to create the finger print mould for your item. Me and my hubby took pics and broke it down into stages.

Basically you get some white goo and blue goo that you have to mix together, first need to separate it as below:

Mix them together until they are basically one even colour and then place them on to the card. You need to do it quite quickly as it starts to harden. Then firmly place your finger into the mix.

With the kit they sent us we had enough to do do four fingerprints altogether however, I mixed mine for too long and it began to set. So we ended up with three mounds of three different fingers of my husband.

After this we posted them in the SAE provide and I received the necklace within a fortnight.

The necklace is super sturdy and I love that it has a story about it and that I am able to talk about it and how much I love my husband. I am fully intending on getting two charms with my kids finger prints on to add to it. Because of the minimalist style of the jewellery it would be a nice gift for a relative who maybe doesn’t wear much jewellery but as I mentioned there are other options of things to can get for gifts. Looking at the site you might think it’s a tidge pricey but these are things that are made ‘just for you’!

My only tiny complaint is the type of chain they’ve used for the necklace keeps catching my hair in it, but it’s no problem to just fish it out.

To conclude I love my Button and Bean fingerprint necklace, I know that it one item I will treasure, love and wear forever and not because it’s worth a lot of money but because it has deep significant meaning for me.

It’s nice to see WearViral growing with designs that wouldn’t be too out of place on the daily sites like TeeFury and RIPT except that they have their own style, and if I’m not mistaken they are also all original designs that haven’t done the rounds before finding a home. Some good designs are Snorg this week, I don’t think I’d wear the Shredder design but at least it’s an original concept (I certainly haven’t seen it before).

Solid week of new designs from Tshirt Laundry, I’m not sure if I’d wear either of the pop culture designs but I can certainly see their appeal to others.

When I saw that Goodie Two Sleeves were selling a One Direction t-shirt I was a bit concerned, but this is clearly the best One Direction t-shirt ever made and if I had a hat on I’d doff it to them right now.
