I’m only a couple of episodes into the 3rd season of The Walking Dead, so I’m way behind everyone else but I wouldn’t be surprised if Merl comes back at some point, as incredibly unlikely as that scenario would be in reality.

As usual, I have no idea what the inspiration is this week at the hip-hop inspired t-shirt site My Main Man Pat, so here’s their explanation:

The story of “Tim Dog Lives” is a somewhat sordid affair. He had some moderate success in the hip-hop game, but first made headlines for a weird-ass online dating scandal in 2011. Then, back in February it was reported that he “died” due to complications stemming from diabetes. However, one of his victims was not convinced, hired a PI, who could not dig up a death certificate. She was able to convince a Mississippi judge, and a warrant has been re-issued for the arrest of one Timothy Blair. This is the type of stuff you cannot make up.

“DOOM” and his trademark metal-face mask have been kings on the underground scene since Operation: Doomsday dropped in ’99. His name and costume were based on the supervillain Dr.Doom from the Marvel comics series, so this designs cartoony feel is just perfect.

I don’t really understand why they feel the need to release a shirt about this Tim Dog guy, it’s an intriguing story, but what would be the motivation behind wearing the shirt when it seems like he wasn’t that popular of an artist anyway?

There seem to be a lot of Summer collections coming out at the moment, and Enclothe are another brand getting in on the action with the release of four brand new t-shirt designs. Enclothe are one of the few brands from the early days of HYA that I still write about, they’ve managed to be consistently excellent for many years and you’ve got to respect that when the indie t-shirt world has a lot of turnover and brands that sizzle out after a season or two.

WolvesVsLions sent me an e-mail to let me know about their latest campaign, titled ‘The Civilian War‘, which appears to be tied to their next series of tees. Here’s what it’s all about:

I’ve reproduced it in full because I have no idea what they’re talking about, so if you think you know what they mean then please do let me know in the comments. There’s lots of vaguely positive messages about avoiding drink, drugs, and sex, but there’s no real substance here talking about things that can actually be done to ‘help’ people, or even explain why the things they’re talking about are wrong and should be discouraged. I’m not saying that they’re wrong or misguided, in fact I’m sure they’re very well meaning, but I do think that this campaign mission statement could do with a bit of a re-write to properly explain what they mean and why a clothing company is doing this, rather than just spouting of lots of cool sounding sentences that don’t really mean anything.

To go with the new campaign they also have the shirt above on pre-order, which I do rather like, and it’s available at a discounted rate of $15 to reward the early birds willing to wait until July 6th (which isn’t that far away) for the shirt to ship.

Goodie Two Sleeves

Well, colour me impressed by what got added to the store at laFraise this week.

I’m catching this one a bit late (big weekend of wild swimming for me), but there’s still a few hours to pick up this design at teeVillain, one of the newer ‘shirt a day’ type sites out there.

Our very own Leah (aka Little Lazies) has her first ever shirt design up for sale there for the rest of the day. I like the style, featuring a collage of characters that look quite a lot like her clay figurines. The design has a feeling of a Wotto design, and to me that’s no bad thing.

I know, I know, there’s a lot of images in this post, but with lookbook images this nice I’m sure none of you can blame me.

Strong collection as usual from CX.CITY, that always manage to strike a good balance with branded goods that make me want to buy them, rather than looking like a branded shirt that is meant to give the brand more exposure.

Lovely new design from Fuzzy Ink, I’d like to see this available as a poster print.
