Victoria Beckham gets naked for Marc Jacobs

Have any of you guys seen those tees which have naked celebs on them with a slogan placed to hide all the naughty bits?I know they’re hardly a new concept (the project started in 2006), but I spotted a good roundup and explanation of the project on a blog called “If It’s Hip, It’s Here” and thought that it was pretty interesting. I think the tees are about $35 each, which is probably too much for many, but apparently all proceeds go to the NYU Cancer Institute, so you’re kinda making a $35 donation to a charity and getting a free tee out of it.

MILF Island t-shirt from NBC

I know I’m pretty late posting this, we Brits don’t usually get American shows for a while after they’ve aired (although The Daily Show and Colbert Report are only on a one-day delay, thankfully), but I’m a fan of 30 Rock and whilst I wouldn’t buy this tee (over-priced, and slightly offensive to all but the tiny minority of people in the UK that watch 30 Rock) I think its really cool that NBC actually sell items from fictional TV shows that have appeared in their own shows, in fact, of the 9 items of apparel in the 30 Rock mini store only 2 pieces have the boring show logo on them, the rest are just things from the show, like the Sheinhardt Wig company or the Tracy Jordan Meat Machine (”Meat is the new bread!”), which I guess makes a lot of sense since only fans of the show are going to buy this stuff, and they’re going to understand what all the quotes and jokes on the tees are about.

Ahhh, there’s no better way to start your day than with a supermodel wearing a t-shirt with a smiley face on it. I’d bet that if I were draped all over her then I’d probably have a smiley face too.

If you want one then google is your friend, my friend.

I was watching a debate with the three front runners for the London Mayoral Election (Boris Johnson - Conservative, Ken Livingston - Labour, Brian Paddick - Liberal Democrat) on Sunday, and I realised that I wouldn’t really want any of them to be in charge of a city that I lived in, they were squabbling like kids. How much is it to ask that we have political figures that I can actually respect?

Since I don’t live in London it doesn’t effect me that much, but I’d imagine its a pretty confusing position for Londoners to be in, having to pick the best of a bad bunch, and I think that this latest couple of tees from Mingled highlights the situation pretty well. For those of you that don’t recognise the faces, Boris’ face is on the Vote Ken tee, and Ken’s face is on the Vote Boris tee. They’ve also made the Vote Boris tee red, which is traditionally Labour’s colour, but the Vote Ken tee is in green, which is a little odd since you’d expect them to carry on the party-switching by making it a blue tee, which would be the Conservatives traditional colour, unless they really being politically astute and recognising how David Cameron has been saying that a vote for the Conservatives is a green vote because of all his promised green initiatives….and that paragraph above provides you with an excellent example of why I don’t write about politics anymore… because it’s all incredibly confusing. Props to Mingled for taking their products shots outside of City Hall!

Curtain Call (feat. Kate Moss) by Veece @ 80s Purple

I guess that chucking what appears to be a naked Kate Moss onto a t-shirt is a sure fire way to get some interest in your product, but to be fair to Veece, they’ve actually made something really innovative with this tee, with a surprisingly effective print to create the curtain effect. Hurrah for optical illusions! They’ve slapped their logo on the back of the tee though… so I’m taking off points!

Hayden Panettiere Wants to Save The Whales… Again!

Whilst I realise that celebrities selling off their clothes for charity is a noble cause which is hardly new (Elton John does this pretty, regularly I do believe), for some reason the only people I can imagine buying these items is creepy middle-aged guys with a huge, rather age inappropriate, crush on the diminutive Heroes hottie (hey, I can say it, I’m not that much older than her).Still, if it helps save the whales, I’m all for it!

Isn’t it kind of sad that a 16 year-old girl can confirm that she’s engaged simply by wearing a t-shirt because she knows that the paparazzi will be following her every move? I guess I’m just as bad for reposting it, but my interest was with the tee being used to push a story, not with the latest dramatic twist in the Spears family saga.

I’ve got no idea where you can buy it, and frankly, I don’t want to know.

Oh come on, don’t look at me like that, it’s a Monday, everyone needs a pickup, if I can’t post a Miley Cyrus vid now when can I?

This post is tee related though, in the vid the Hannah Montana (a show I have never seen, btw) star is wearing a ‘Waking Up is Hard to do‘ tee from Crooked Monkey. If for some reason you feel the need to dress like Miley Cyrus, now’s your chance!

Me, I wouldn’t wear anything that suggested I spend a lot of my money ‘helping to put girls through college’, but if you want to, knock yourself out. Crooked Monkey have not one but two designs celebrating Client #9.

GemStones wearing Gorilla Fronts by Chaunce Clothing

I may not know who GemStones is (apparently a big buddy of Lupe Fiasco), but when I’m told that he’s the next big thing in rap, I know I want to get onto that band wagon as early as I can, and ride it as far as I can. Also, he’s wearing one of my favourite tees of the moment (it goes with practically anything), Gorilla Fronts, by Chaunce Clothing, who are in the ‘Friends of HYA Club’, which isn’t actually a real thing.GemStones
