A blog about hoodies & t-shirts, with news from the independent clothing world

I know that shipping costs are hardly the most exciting topic, but when you hear that something is going to be getting cheaper then I think it is worth noting.

I’ve never actually made an order at Design By Humans, so I have no real frame of reference to the shipping prices, but they’re damned cheap now. Their most recent mailout said that a single tee could be posted for as little as $5, which is a cut of about 60% on the previous cost. But when I added one tee to my basket and proceeded to the checkout, it said that postage to the UK was $4.14, which is obviously less than $5, and an excellent deal for those of us on this side of the Atlantic that love buying stuff from America but hate having to pay over the odds for it to actually get here.

They’ve also reprinted a load of tees as well, so if you were disappointed to miss out on a tee in the past take a look and see if its back in stock.

Zero by ladrones for Go Ape Shirts

I’m going to be a bit lazy and just copy/paste their newsletter, but I am going to add in all of the links to make things nice and easy for you:

There is a lot of new news today! “Boo Boo Walker“, “Guitar Solo“, “The Zombie of Oz“, and “Battle!” [monkey + robots ftw!] have all been restocked. “The Persistence of Rock” was also reprinted, but this time on army colored tees. The next big piece of news is that two new shirts are now up for sale! Olly Moss’s third design for Go Ape Shirts is called “The Waste Land“, inspired by the T.S. Eliot poem of the same name. It is a jumbo print on a creme-colored shirt. “Zero” [pictured] was designed by Joshua Agerstrand aka ladrones. This design was printed on grey tri-blend tees, which are SUPER soft. They do tend to run a bit smaller than the normal AA tees and shrink a little more, so you may want to order a size up if you’re between sizes. The extra cost of these tees is due to the extra cost of the blanks. Lastly, if you order more than one shirt, I’ll throw in an issue of Beautiful/Decay!

I’m sure that there’ll be some people who are rather happy to hear about those reprints, get on it before all the hardcore Star Wars fans buy the Boo Boo Walker & Guitar Solo tees!

This flew off the virtual shelves when it was first put on sale, and the Chop Shop team have been pretty swift in getting it back on sale again. So if you missed out on this multiple-robot extravaganza of a t-shirt when I first wrote about it a couple of weeks ago, now is your chance!

Monsieur T.: The second half of their latest season has been released, which means there is now some girls stuff available to buy, head on over to check out the goodness.

Imaginary Foundation: New designs released, and some reprints too, and I think that they might have managed to surpass the high standard that they usually set for themselves with these releases.

Organic Cotton Facts: Check out this cute little video about the use of pesticides in cotton by an illustrator called Chris Haughton.

Waterloo: They’ve released a series of beautifully illustrated called ‘Swimmers’, I don’t think that they are based on anything from music or movies like a lot of their designs, but feel free to educate me!

Owl Movement Restocks

If you were hankering for something from Owl Movement and were previously disappointed by its ’sold out’ status you can rejoice, they’ve done a restock:

The title says it all, Ten Bills have got six great new designs (’Divide and Conquer‘ is my favourite, pictured) available, a few designs have been restocked, and they’ve still got a few tees available for the low, low, price of $5.

Ten Bills

I had promised Joe that I’d do a long post on this topic, packed with tidbits from the IF interview in the latest edition of T-World magazine in an attempt to help him justify buying one of their marked-down but still not that cheap hoodies. But I’ve just realised that I’m really lazy so I’m going to take the easy way out…

Imaginary Foundation have restocked a number of items in their store, but there’s still quite a lot of things that are still sold out, so have a root around and you might find something you’ve been coveting for a while.
