Sorry I didn’t catch this when it was just €29 as part of their Cheap Friday’s promotion last week, but it still looks just as good even with a higher price tag.
It’s nice to see this placed on the left of the sweatshirt, I don’t think I would have been quite so enthralled with it if it had a standard middle print placement.

Heads up, I’m very tenuously keeping my reporting French-stuff theme going by reporting that Portland-based outfit Monsieur T. have released the first part of their Fall/Winter line. I’m blatantly going to be writing about the hoodie on the right of the above pic so please pretend to be surprised when it pops up on the site later next week.

That’s not exactly a whole lot more information I can give you beyond the headline. Here’s the link. Maybe 25% off will make their shipping prices more palatable. Oh, and this one is just for the men, sorry ladies.

As I’m sure you know, there’s only six days until International Talk Like A Pirate Day (September 19th for those reading this in a very different timezone), so if you aren’t going to go the whole hog and dress up like Jack Sparrow, you can probably still have this sweatshirt at your door in time to get in on the pirate fun.

If you get the point of this sweater before you read the blurb then congratulations to you, you are far smarter than I am.
“Back in the day the letter A began as a pictogram illustrating the head and horns of an Ox.
The Phoenicians wrote right to left writing the A sideways as it was quicker. The Greeks generally wrote left to right, so turned the A around. There was a point way back when a system was used called ‘Boustrophedon’ which translates ‘as the Ox ploughs’ so first A went left to right, second A right to left, and so on.
Around 500 BC writing became standardized and letters stopped changing direction. The Ox finally settled on its horns.”
Pretty darned clever design, right guys?

When I hear the word ‘aloha’, I immediately think of Hawaii. So quite naturally (I presumed), when I found out about Aloha Victory I thought I’d be checking out some designs from the land of grass skirts and drinks served in coconut shells. Oh, how wrong I was, Aloha Victory are actually based in Florida, but when I actually take a look at this design, both the Hawaiian and Floridian (is that even a word?) aspects are quite apparent.

And when I say apparent, I mean it has both coconuts (Hawaii) and a space shuttle (Kennedy Space Center) on it. I know I probably should have picked up on that the second I pulled the tee out of it’s envelope, but I thought it was a pretty cool way to give a nod to both the geography and the spirit of Aloha Victory. I really like this design, all the elements seem to work so well together, the ‘A’ and ‘V’ that sit on either side of the space shuttle are a really nice touch. One of my favourite aspects of the design is the way that they’ve really brought a sense of perspective to it, which isn’t usually a feature of most tee designs.

The print feels like quality, whilst I’m still not entirely sure about inks, I think that it is printed with plastisol ink, whatever it is, I think its printed to last. The stock tee is a Hanes Beefy T, and I do believe that its the first I’ve received since starting HYA. The Beefy T is, as the name suggests, a bit thicker than a standard tee, and the cut is a bit boxier than a standard American Apparel tee, it still feels pretty soft though, and I would imagine that it’ll last pretty well with it being a little bit thicker.

More pics after the break.

I think Clear Cut Case might only ship locally (i.e. only in Germany), but it’s still pretty good to showcase the products they’ve got, and if I remember correctly they’re hoping to ship internationally soon anyway. That, and HYA is surprisingly popular in Germany so why not show them some love? They also seem to be one of the few places around that offer sweatshirts that I think are pretty cool. There’s a lot going on with this design, but I like it, especially the telephone poll in the middle with the lines wiggling off from it.

I don’t find that many sweatshirts to feature, but I like this, even if the day-glo print is a bit 80s for me. Another top product from Clear-Cut-Case.

I’m gonna keep things short on this post because I had more than a 200 mile round-trip to see my grandfather in hospital today and over the past couple of days my grand total of sleep hours isn’t in double figures, so as you’d imagine I’m pretty tired. That, and I’m watching Deadwood on DVD (how good is that show!). Quite a cool sweatshirt, with a different take on the splatters of paint that we’ve been seeing on tees and hoodies around recently, I like the way that the face is worked in so subtly.

Yeah, a lot of this news is likely to have been covered whilst I’ve been away by other bloggers, but I’d like to clear my inbox of this info:
Orange Button: They dropped some cute new items. Check’em out.
Oddica: 4 new tees this month, and whilst the Exploded 8-track design looks good, I’m going to have to say that Gramaphone Ghosts is my favourite from this wave of releases.
Streetwear Store Locator: This is pretty cool, by utilising Google Maps a directory is coming together of good streetwear stores from around the world. If you own a bricks-and-mortar store then I recommend you get on their and add yourself in to help make this resource really valuable.
Stereo Panda: Their new Spring/Summer line dropped a couple of weeks ago, they had some limited edition stuff at launch which may or may not have sold out already, I can’t be sure.
Sascha Says: They sell some cool tees, but because they’re a bunch of Melbourne-based Aussies, they sell printed aprons too, love it!
Buttermilk: Such a cool website from this new tee label, it has grazing cows! And I actually like every tee in their rotating range, which makes a pleasant change!
ComBoutique: I like this startup, they’ve taken some of the best parts of other business models and combined them with their own style. You can make that one off tee, and it will be in a design competition as well. I haven’t really tested it yet, so my thoughts are based upon initial impressions, but I’ll be keeping an eye on this one.
Custom Dogs: Good designs, good prices, nicely designed website, poster prints that aren’t a rip off. Check it out.
Deathhippie: These guys have been getting a lot of press from people far more authoritative than me, and their goods are being worn by people far more famous than me (despite my appearance on Japanese TV), but I like their designs and want to give this brand more of a look in the coming days.
