This post has reminded me that I haven’t yet posted about
The IT Crowd S3E6, that will come up…. sometime. I haven’t seen this episode yet, but let’s be honest, if we have to wait until I’ve seen it and made caps before I write a post they’ll have probably canceled then renewed the show after it sold loads of DVDs.
It’s always cool when an indie tee producer gets some mainstream exposure, even though text doesn’t pop up on screen pointing at the tee saying “buy this tee at www.totallyindieteesyourfriendsdontownwhichwouldmakeyoulookcool.com” it must make the designer feel good, especially when they’ve made a tee that’s meant to be funny and it gets shown on 30 Rock, a show which I think is one of the funniest on TV at the moment.

Apparently this tee is some kind of a reference to the fantastically funny
30 Rock, but I couldn’t place it at all, so I did a bit of hunting around (we all know what
that means) and
apparently blërg was uttered by Ms. Liz Lemon as a way of expressing:
The sound of many negative emotions in one word.
I think she might be right, it’s a word that you can say without even trying when you simply don’t have the energy to be annoyed anymore.

I know I’m pretty late posting this, we Brits don’t usually get American shows for a while after they’ve aired (although The Daily Show and Colbert Report are only on a one-day delay, thankfully), but I’m a fan of 30 Rock and whilst I wouldn’t buy this tee (over-priced, and slightly offensive to all but the tiny minority of people in the UK that watch 30 Rock) I think its really cool that NBC actually sell items from fictional TV shows that have appeared in their own shows, in fact, of the 9 items of apparel in the
30 Rock mini store only 2 pieces have the boring show logo on them, the rest are just things from the show, like the Sheinhardt Wig company or the Tracy Jordan Meat Machine (“Meat is the new bread!”), which I guess makes a lot of sense since only fans of the show are going to buy this stuff, and they’re going to understand what all the quotes and jokes on the tees are about.

I’m going to make you work for this, instead of posting all the pics here and making it easy, I’m going to do the right thing and just link to the slideshow (that favourite inflater of pageviews of the mainstream media) provided by Entertainment Weekly of 15 famous people, most of which are actually famous which is somewhat of a rarity these days, wearing their favourite t-shirts. If you want to know which celebs are in the slideshow, I’ve listed them all in the tags to this post, I picked Tina Fey for the post pic over the others because I utterly love
30 Rock… and because I think shes kinda hot…
I wouldn’t know where to start in trying to find these tees for purchase, but hey, it’s Friday, have some fun with it!
