Ha! Its true, there are an awful lot of bikes in Amsterdam, and an awful lot of tourists that can’t get their heads around not walking in bike lanes. Unusually for a flickr finds post, I can actually point you towards where you can buy this tee (sacre bleu!), although Parkarma have gone on holiday, so if you order one then it won’t be shipped until shortly after August 1st when I get back from their hols.

Colour Bloks by Universe on a T-shirt

It has been far, far too long since we’ve taken a look at Universe on a T-shirt, but I guess that absence makes the heart grow fonder since I’ve fallen in love with their designs all over again. It’s also nice to see that HYA is still on their press page too.

The tees still don’t really have names or descriptions (some have partial names in their image files), but in the case of UoaT I actually prefer not having a description because their designs are so ambiguous that I like thinking about my own interpretations, so i guess I’d be kind of spoiling it for you if I told you what I thought this tee was about.

The people from Aiko got back in touch with me and I do have a resolution to my search, but I’m afraid it wasn’t quite the answer I was hoping for.

The only way you can buy original Aiko products is from two sources. The store run by the people behind Aiko in Amsterdam, or a store in Milan. Dang.

Well, I’ve always said I’d love to go back to Amsterdam…

*EXCITING UPDATE GOODNESS*
Dave Rambo found a webshop that has Aiko available online and posted the links in the comments section of the previous Aiko post. The cotton-y goodness can be found at Subnormals.com, I wonder if the guys that run Aiko know about it, and if so, why didn’t they tell me?

I’ve been researching this one really hard, actual investigation, but I’ve admitted defeat, I can’t find Aiko.

I found myself on the weareaiko blog last wekk, taking in all the colours, thinking “jackpot, hoodies galore”, but then I realised that there were no links to actually buy them. No worries I thought, Google (haha, linking to the Goog) to my rescue. Nope.

I managed to find an interview with Niko Stumpo, the Norwegian-born-Italian who lives in Amsterdam who created the Aiko brand, and whilst it was a good read, it was another dead-end.

More clever googling took me to milksugar.de (possibly owned by Niko), a web-store packed to the brim with super-awesome bags, including Aiko bags, but no tees or hoodies. Dang.

His personal site is little help, though the art is incredible, no wonder he’s worked with Sony, Nike, Heineken (my favourite beer after I visited Amsterdam) and 55DSL.

So, readers, anyone know where you can buy Aiko gear? I’ll fire off an e-mail tonight and hopefully get a response from Aiko.
