5 new pop culture tees from 604Republic

by Andy on April 10, 2013

I haven’t actually seen Drive yet, but I do really like that Back To The Future design, and the rest of this bunch aren’t half bad either.

I don’t want to spoil the reveal at the end, but for a second that I thought it was the real thing. Pretty cool way to promote a company that offers movie-inspired t-shirts.

It’s not the best week ever, but that Big Bang concept is new to me, so a slight doff of my cap to Snorg for that one.

back to the future t-shirt

I can’t call this a vintage week at Tshirt Laundry, though the 8-Bit Angels design isn’t without it’s charms, which is a bit annoying since it’s not available as a tee. Don’t forget that these shirts as well as everything else in their store are $14 in their Valentine’s sale.

Post image for “Doc’s Delorean” Back to the Future t-shirt by Sneaky Studios

I remember thinking as a kid when I watched Back To The Future for the first time that going 88mph was really impressive and fast, but looking at it now it’s not really that fast, hell, I’ve driven vans nearly that fast on the autoroutes of France and still been on the right side of the law. Cool shirt though!

T-shirt news for March 26th

by Andy on March 26, 2012

I find it kind of odd that people would want to wear the mascot for an operating system, but this shirt from TeeFury ain’t too bad.

Shirt.Woot revamp the original cute cat poster.

I like The IT Crowd, I have a NES under my TV, and I like t-shirts. I like this from RIPT. Pretty sure I’ve written about this design in the past…

back to the future t-shirt

If Doc Brown and Tin Tin had a love child it would look something a little bit like this. Horrifying in concept but great in reality on this shirt that you can get in a variety of colours. Designed by Todd Wilhelm over at RedBubble who has numerous other parody shirts for people to cover their chests with.

T-shirt News for January 19th

breaking bad t-shirt

I realised that this TeeFury shirt was about Breaking Bad, but having only seen a couple of episodes the Los Pollos Hermanos aspect of this shirt is lost on me.

I think that this might be my favourite design that Shirt.Woot have released.

Goonies-inspired t-shirt from RIPT today.

“The Marvelous commute to Wonderland” is up at Qwertee.

It’s Back To The Future vs Bill and Ted at Shirt Punch today.

Here’s another 24tee shirt that goes over my head.

I know that Community isn’t for everyone, but the paintball episode was truly fantastic, so I’m glad to get the reminder from TeeRadiers.

Two new shirts from DBH today (including one that is fighting SOPA that will only be available for a couple more days).

BustedTees have some wrestling pandas for $13.99 instead of $20 this week.

Hey look, Tilteed are selling ‘The Eternal Struggle’ again.

This error greeted me when I visited TeeBlitz this morning.

Adam has some advice over at TeeJunction on creating a t-shirt brand.

Save up to 20% on your order at Wrongwroks, providing you spend quite a lot.

Raygun Robyn is aiming for global domination, and to do that she’s going to offer free shipping to the first person from countries that haven’t yet made an order in her store.

Johnny Cupcakes shares a little story of how he put a plastic skull into a random customer’s order for a hat to try and add some mystery and magic to the online shopping process. It might give other store owners ideas about how they can make their shopping experience more interesting.

Obscure Printing are going to start offering a complete fulfillment service for brands (printing, packing, shipping, and stock holding). They’re also collaborating with a company called Judda distribution which will make brands available to 3000+ stores across Europe, which could be a great opportunity for a lot of brands. It’ll be interesting to see where this goes.

Mila Kunis wore a vintage-styled Pepsi t-shirt, super-duper!

TeeMinus24 bring out a pop art inspired Admiral Ackbar shirt.

24tee have a shirt for hipsters.

Shirt with a wolf on it at DBH.

I’m sure that TeeBlitz have sold this design before, and it’s a little odd that the time remaining for the design is “-359 days”, but hopefully that doesn’t mean there’s trouble at TeeBlitz.

Loviu wheel out this older design.

Oldie-but-goodie at Tilteed today.

May I suggest that you advertise on HYA? Options available to suit all budgets.

And that’s the news for today!

80s movies t-shirt

Sorry about the intermittent service on HYA recently, our wireless router failed last week, I ordered another on rush delivery from Amazon and when it arrived it wouldn’t work, and our backup router is quite old and a little flakey which doesn’t help things. There is another router on the way from Amazon though, so hopefully all of this will be sorted out before I go on my traditional Christmas break.

Wow, there really were a lot of iconic movies released in 1985, cool shirt from TeeFury.

Daily Tees & News for December 1st

by Andy on December 1, 2011

teefury reported attack page

Welcome to December. Naturally a lot of brands will be focusing on making sales during the run up to Christmas, and I suspect we’ll see a lot of coupon codes and discounts revolving around that, so the news portion of these roundups will likely grow. These roundups do take quite a lot of time, so if you like it, share it please!

When I try to visit TeeFury Firefox comes up with this. Now, I am 100% confident that Teefury has not been an elaborate phishing scam from the beginning, but after checking out their Facebook page it seems a lot of people have also had this message come up, so I feel that their site may have been compromised in some way. This happened to HYA once and it was hell getting it fixed as someone that doesn’t have much technical expertise, hopefully they will have it sorted soon and it doesn’t cause too many headaches, but I recommend anyone who has visited in the past few days to run a virus scan. There has been no response that I can see from Teefury as of yet.

Quite a clever shirt from Qwertee today, showing fictional books based on movies such as Ghostbusters and Back To The Future.

There’s a lot of excitement over at RIPT for this Star Wars x Transformers mashup.

pokemon t-shirt

I stopped updating the Black Friday t-shirt deal list once it hit 109 items and I got a migraine, but please remember that not all those deals were just for Black Friday, a lot of them carry on until today and a few beyond that too.

Not often that you’ll see a Pokemon x Katamari Damacy shirt, but TeeFury have given us a great one today.

Qwertee have a shirt about The Hulk today.

The dance of the blue footed boobie makes a return at Tilteed.

Nowhere Bad have dropped a shirt about National Lampoons Christmas Vacation, of course.

I don’t know if there’s any significance to XYZ on the shirt, but I like the idea of the zip in the Y. Stupidhurts.us.

This rather magical tee at Shirt.Woot is also available as a long-sleeve tee.

Swiss Army Wolverine, huh, didn’t see that one coming, RIPT.

Very clever shirt from The Yetee, I wouldn’t call myself a massive fans of the Aliens series, but this concept works really well.

A fairly oblique reference to Futurama from TeeMinus24, but it’s always good to see a Futurama t-shirt.

Very interesting Bowser shirt from 24tee today, good style to it.

TeeRaiders are responsible for our Doctor Who shirt today.

GraphicLab have dropped their latest shirt and it’s a delightful mashup or Scott Pilgrim and Back To The Future.

Very nice musical shirt at Loviu today.

Can anyone enlighten me as to what the Japanese (right?) text says on this Back To The Future tee at Shirt Punch?

Tshirt Contest are parodying Game of Thrones with this bacon flavoured t-shirt.

No new shirt from DBH today, but every tee is $15 for Cyber Monday, I think that’s a pretty good deal!

Kissmetrics take a look at whether having your phone number om your website will increase sales. Hint, it usually does.

Honour Over Glory have released their Autumn/Winter Range, so obviously they had to make a promo video featuring hot girls in the woods.

BustedTees Cyber Monday offering is already down to 20% off.

166 Days have knocked theer shirts down to £9.99 for the week.

Social Fabrik are offering 15% off all their shirts today with the coupon code CYBERMONDAY.

Daily Tees & News for November 8th

by Andy on November 8, 2011

mars university futurama t-shirt

Nice to see more Futurama shirts becoming available, even if it’s just for a day at TeeFury.

Great collage shirt from Qwertee today, one for children of the 80s I think.

Another cool design from Tilteed, but of course it is also an old design, I’d love to know what’s happening there and why we haven’t seen new shirts for so long, hopefully this isn’t the beginning of the end for Tilteed.

Whilst I don’t entirely understand the meaning of the bird painting itself, I do like the artwork today at Shirt.Woot.

Quite a few of the RIPT commenters are chiming in to say that they won’t buy this shirt because it will be out of date in a year, fair point.

It’s pretty rare that you get a shirt that draws from Picasso and Star Wars, bravo The Yetee, bravo.

Nope. I’m going to need someone to explain the reference to me on this 24tee shirt.

Gotta say I’m not in love with the Mario artwork at TeeRaiders today, sorry.

Nice to see this design at Loviu again.

Shirt Punch are exploring that oft-neglected crossover of Doctor Who and Wizard of Oz today.

The straightforwardly named Tshirt Contest have opened their first contest with a call for entries of beer designs.

‘War Torn’ is the Shirt Of The Day at DBH.

Delorean Dashboard is the deal of the day at BustedTees. $11 instead of $20.

I don’t want to complain too much about something that’s a 2 year old issue, but I saw it again and it annoyed me again. Total Film published a list of 100 Star Wars t-shirts in 2009 that I feel is clearly heavily inspired by my list of 202 Star Wars t-shirts. That post took me the better part of 25 hours work, work that they haven’t acknowledged in their list (they have picked all the same shirts as I did, and in many cases they’re listed in the same order. I’m of no doubt that Total Film have earned money from that post (they have ads, and they’re on the first page of Google for the search ‘Star Wars t-shirts’), but all I want from them is acknowledgement that I did the research for their article, and an apology for using my work without permission. If any of you would like to leave a comment on their article or tweet them @totalfilm regarding the issue I’d appreciate it.

Mashable have a short list of “4 Essential Facebook Page Apps to Improve Communication With Fans” that I think will be of use to brand owners.

New shirt today from A Better Tomorrow.

Javaboi Industries have a Steve Jobs tribute shirt. Frankly, I don’t care for the shirt, it’s just not for me, but I can understand why people would look up to Steve Jobs, and it’s cool that Javaboi are donating to charity with the sales from the shirt, especially as they are a brand that has unfortunately had far too many experiences with cancer.

RedBubble artist Tom Trager has released the above ‘Dalek Pest Exterminations’ Doctor Who shirt for £15.99, which I’ve now added to the Doctor Who list.

You can get an extra 15% off at PLNDR with the coupon HUSH15 provided you spend $50+.

Use the coupon code TRIPLE11 to get 20% off your order at Karmaloop from now until midnight (EST) on November 11th.

I’ve opened up a couple of new advertising spaces for your perusal (footer & sidebar skyscraper left). Don’t worry, this isn’t yet more ads on HYA, I’ve converted the two ads that had Google AdSense on them to regular ads (that are backfilled with AdSense at the moment, confused?). They’re on a CPM basis, meaning you only pay for what you want and I’ve made it possible to buy just a couple of thousand pageviews at a time, meaning you can dip your toe in the water advertising on HYA for just a couple of dollars. This also means that we could have hundreds of people advertising on HYA, which I think would be pretty cool.

Unestablish has opened for business, they seem to have some pretty cool higher-end looking clothing.

Counter Balance Clothing (who I hadn’t heard of before) released a big new Fall collection a few days ago, with that many new shirts you guys must be able to find something you like in there.

Time for me to feel bad again, Monstros Apparel have been running a Kickstarter Project for the past month, and now that I finally get around to properly checking out their e-mail the Kickstarter has got 3 days to go and still needs about $2,000 to be funded. I know that HYA probably doesn’t have the readership to give this guy $2,000 but I think there are probably a few of you out there that would have pledged for one of his shirts.

Daily Tees and News for November 5th

by Andy on November 5, 2011

coffee-aid t-shirt

Oh yeah! TeeFury

Were Tilteed not selling this design just a couple of weeks ago?

Nice Zelda shirt (right reference?) at Shirt.Woot today.

RIPT bring us a Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure mashup today.

It always amazes me how few Simpsons t-shirts there are out there. The Yetee.

Was someone else selling this Buffy the Vampire Slayer t-shirt recently? No matter, it’s available at OtherTees now.

I don’t know what or if there is a reference on this 24tee shirt, but it’s a pretty cool design either way.

A quick Google tells me that this TeeRaiders ‘Miranda Reavers’ design is something to do with Firefly.

At first I was like, “oh, that’s nice” then I looked at this Loviu design a little closer.

Oh man, I’d just written a whole thing about not getting the reference on this Shirt Punch tee, then it hit me, Marty McFly from Back To The Future?

Coty of CotyGonzales.com fame has a new-ish site called Exploration Hawaii all about hiking around Hawaii. We have some stunning walks around where I live (it may be called the Lake District, but there are hills around all those lakes), but the places he’s going look amazing. He’s running a little competition to win a $25 gift certificate from Threadless that I’m sure you’ll want to enter before November 10th.

Kissmetrics have a viral marketing cheat sheet that brand owners may want to check out.

Cuppa-T have put up their Christmas shipping dates.

PalmerCash are doing their bit for Movember.

Urban Outfitters (in the UK/Europe at least) are offering free shipping this weekend.

Hot Topic have updated their monthly coupon code, you can get 20% off with HTA20NOV providing you spend at least $60. Coupon expires December 2nd.

HYA blogger Sleepy Dan has added some snap back hats to his store, expect a behind the scenes look at how they were printed here in the next day or so.

Threadless have added some gorgeous (and massive) graphics to their partnership with Blik.

Make Believe have released a short but delightful video that really captures the spirit of their brand.

Terratag have got a grab bag offer going on that I think gives really good value. They’re mystery tees or sweats/hoodies, so you’ll have to be a big fan of Terratag, but since they have a fairly cohesive range, I think if you like one of their shirts you’ll probably like most of them.

Shirt designers always need more textures right? Apparently this free texture pack at Mintees is mighty fine.

Looks like Mintees are going to be opening a marketplace, which is going to be another nail in the coffin of ShirtHive (another idea I had but couldn’t find the time for).

There’s a really funny interview with former HYA blogger Randyotter at TheShirtList.

Daily Tee and News Roundup October 26th

by Andy on October 26, 2011

twin peaks t-shirt

I had no clue what this shirt was about so I looked in the TeeFury comments, apparently it’s Twin Peaks.

‘A study in turtles’ at Tilteed could easily be renamed ‘a study in cuteness’.

Very cool zombie defense t-shirt from Nowhere Bad today.

Nice use of negative space from Stupidhurts.us, very wearable shirt.

Cool tee from Shirt.Woot, I’m sure I’ve seen this ‘taking the bus’ concept (and possibly even this shirt) before, maybe it was at Tilteed?

Fun shirt from RIPT for what I’m sure are the massively overlapping audiences of the Watchmen and Hello Kitty.

I had to look this TeeMinus24 shirt up, apparently Zarek is something to do with Battlestar Galactica.

Thou shalt not rip on 24tee every day. Different strokes for different folks. Actually, this shirt is pretty cool.

At first I thought that this Loviu shirt was just a paint blob, which would have been cool, and then I notice the stars and Saturn, which definitely kicked it up a notch.

I don’t get it? Catch of the Day Tee.

Really nicely put together Back To The Future design from Shirt Punch, they’ve certainly come out of the blocks strongly.

Adam over at I Am The Trend has put together a video review of White Pine Patriot, how do they stack up against his 4P’s of tees.

Camiseteria have released a couple of great new tees that you will have to test your Portuguese on if you really want to buy them.

All white tees are on sale at Typography Shop, all down to $14.99 until they’re sold out.

This Australian fellow wants to get into the t-shirt game, and he’s going down the Rockethub route (that’s Kickstarter for people without US bank accounts), give him your support if you like the tee.

Apparently New Zealand is back to work and being productive after their World Cup win at the weekend, because Cuppa-T will be selling tees at the Armageddon Expo in Auckland this weekend.

It’s almost November so you know what that means, seeing guys with really thin mustaches doing their bit for charity. I’m tempted to give it a go myself, would any of you guys sponsor me? Fuzzy Ink have a global partnership with the Movember Foundation this year, and they’ve produced some great shirts for the occasion.

Daily Tee Roundup September 20th

by Andy on September 20, 2011

stephen king t-shirt

Today at TeeFury we have a shirt for $10 that apparently references Stephen King, I’m just going to have to trust them on that as I know little of his massive body of work.

There seems to be some division in the comments at RIPT saying that this Back To The Future shirt is far too obscure and nothing to do with the film. I didn’t get that it was was a BTTF shirt at first, but you don’t have to get things immediately, that’s usually half the fun, and when you’re wearing it and someone you meet immediately clocks the reference you’ve got a solid ice-breaker right there, because you know that person will be into the things you like (or a complete film bore).

‘United Tastes of America’ is a great tee from Shirt.Woot. When I woke up this morning and looked at my e-mails through hazy eyes I thought it said ‘United Taxes of America’ and I was shocked that Woot were putting out such a topical design, turns out my mind was playing tricks on me. A burger and fries will probably make for a more interesting shirt than Warren Buffett related tax debates.

Nice shirt from Nowhere Bad today, perhaps a little late for grilling season in this hemisphere, but I still like it.

I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned GraphicLab before, but this Star Wars-based design is enough to pique my interest, they offer a different shirt each week, which gives you plenty of time to pick them up, and plenty of time for me to forget to post them next week.

Two new science tees at Cuppa-T

by Andy on August 24, 2011

science t-shirts

Really cool artwork on these shirts. One strange thing about this release is that they are Cuppa-T shirts, yet they’re being sold in something called the Sneaky Store. Still, I don’t mind where they come from, though it would be nice if they weren’t from New Zealand so that they could be a bit cheaper.
