Radical Tea Towels… wait, what?

Post image for Radical Tea Towels… wait, what?

Sometimes I get an e-mail from a company that is so unexpected you just have to post about it even though it has practically nothing to do with HYAs usual subjects. Have you ever struggled to get a gift for that special anarchist in your life? Well worry no more because Radical Tea Towel have solved all your woes with their inspirational left-leaning tea towels, aprons, and bags. The idea of interesting designs on tea towels isn’t exactly new, but this is the first time that I’ve seen them used in a political or philosophical manner, and I think it’s a great idea, even if there seems to be something a little bit wrong with rubbing an errant splash of gravy in Martin Luther King’s face when I’m doing the Sunday roast.

Tea towels are around £10, aprons £12, and it’s £15 for that bag.

build bridges not walls t-shirt

I like the new ‘Build Bridges‘ design from Random Objects, it may be simple, restrained, and just a one-colour print, but it’s the kind of shirt that I really like to wear. Good to see Origami Pigeon make a return too, even if it’s just for a short time as when it sells out it won’t be making a return, and that bag looks pretty nifty too, though not the kind of thing that I’d buy.

As you may well have guess I’ve decided to start posting videos whenever Iamthetrend and Coty Gonzales release them, they put a lot of effort into their videos and I want to recognise that by hopefully bringing them to a wider audience. Also, isn’t it nice to have some video content on the site?

In this episode Coty takes a look at a brand called The Good Child, and reviews a messenger bag sent to him by Evozip.

Pyknic’s Winter Line wants to say hello

Looks like a strong release to me, lots of different styles going on but all are wearable. It’s a big release (Pyknic are a pretty large brand nowadays) so check out the rest of the new goods in the gallery.

Akumu Ink keep on keeping on

by Andy on August 5, 2008

Montreal is home to a number of awesome things, the worlds tallest inclined tower, a great biodome (there was a sloth!), lots of lovely restaurants, and Akumu Ink. Here’s what they’ve been up to recently:

So, what’s new with Akumu Ink: we have our current designs printed in
different colors (Cut,Cut & When a Cat Smiles), we offer some of them on
our black t-shirts (Death’s Embrace & The Black Rose), and we offer more
choices of tote bags (Nevermore, When a Cat Smiles & Cut,Cut).
