Grey static peak lapel blazer by Oak

by Andy on November 14, 2009

Just so we’re clear, whenever I say on this blog that I’m hot, or call myself ‘handsome Andy’, ‘devilishly handsome’ or anything like that, I’m kidding, I may be many things but blind I am not. However, put me in a blazer and bam, magical things happen. Basically, put anyone in a nice enough blazer and they go up 2 points on the 1-10 scale of hotness, this isn’t a scientific study, though I would have thought that would be a good was to test it if you were so inclined (y’know, if the vast majority of guys on there weren’t clearly douches). So clearly, I’m a fan of the blazer, and this one from Oak is a fine example of the breed.

Joe of Fantastic Bonanza! fame may well have semi-retired from blogging, but clearly he’s still as obsessed with clothing as I am, because he pointed me in the direction of this very interesting piece. I’m still not totally sold on the idea of a hoodie and a blazer making sweet-love and producing hybrid offspring, but it doesn’t mean I’m not intrigued by the idea.

This example of the breed certainly annoys me a lot less than others I’ve seen, it looks really high quality, and if you think that you can pull it off then it might be worth your $265 of hard-earned cash.

District Wool Blazer by Brooklyn Industries

by Andy on November 6, 2008

I like blazers/jackets, they make me feel classy. I’ve never been too crazy about wool blazers before, but this one certainly turned my head, and the pocket-watch print on the inside pocket is a nice touch (peep the gallery for that).

Cropped Blazer by Endovanera

by Andy on March 27, 2008

As usual with my blazer posts, I wouldn’t recommend buying something over the internet that is so closely linked to body shape, especially when it costs as much as this one does, but this is way too nice to skip just because I wouldn’t buy it.For me, the cropping is one of the few let downs on this piece, for some reason it reminds me of the jackets that people wear when they’re riding horses in competitions, but its still a damned fine looking singe-button blazer, and the way that there doesn’t seem to be any buttons on the cuffs is a really nice touch.

Adonis Blazer by Brooklyn Industries

When I was in Hong Kong I spent quite a lot of my shopping time trying to find a decent blazer and come up with nothing (HK is not the friend of the larger gent). I’ve got one nice blazer and feel good (and look even better!) when I’m wearing it, sometimes its good to class things up a bit, even if my friends to think I’m attempting to become a long-lost member of the Backstreet Boys just by wearing a jacket.

I’m not sure if I’d buy a blazer over the net, but this does look damned sharp. Personally, I’d like to see something a bit more interesting going on in the lining, white is fine but why not have a bit of colour to pep things up a bit?
