Boba Skates – history and contest

by Andy on March 6, 2013

I’ve never really thought of submitting to HYA before – but today Unamee are running my Boba Skates design.
This in itself is not intrinsically exciting – but there are two reasons I’m posting this.

a) Boba Skates was actually my first ever tshirt design – I did him way back in early 2000. Made it as a horrible iron on transfer on a cheap C&A tee and blam! A happy me. It’s exciting (to me) to see the newer version of the design hitting one of the daily sites.

b) I’m running a contest to win a custom made vintage Star Wars looking toy – and I am super chuffed about this

That’s it really.

Andy: I usually wouldn’t post individual daily tee site relelases…. but that competition is pretty neat.

Daily t-shirt news releases for April 12th

by Andy on April 12, 2012

Cute Thundercats t-shirt

At least we can say this Thundercats t-shirt at TeeFury is cute, whether I’d want to wear it…

Very nice from Shirt.Woot. I had a friend that uttered this phrase once, we still mock him for it to this day (in that way groups of guys never forget anything embarrassing about each other.

Metroid meets Boba Fett at RIPT today and it looks mighty nice.

Five famous weapons at Qwertee.

Kong Barrel Co. makes an appearance at Shirt Punch.

I’m just going to presume that this design at TeeRaiders is to do with The Last Airbender (the film with no ending IIRC), and you can tell me I’m wrong in the comments.

Pretty nice from DBH today (oh, and get 25% off with the coupon code DBHSTAFF).

America is ready for Change at BustedTees.

Made in the Now point out that Disneyland Paris is in almost €2 billion of debt as it celebrates it’s 20th birthday.

Fibertopic react to the $1 billion sale of Instagram to Facebook.

Tee Busters have a shirt mashup of the two most famous Dexter’s on TV.

Among Villains have put all their shirts on sale for $15 this month.

WeLoveFine.com are running an Invader Zim design contest with a cash prize of up to $2,500.

Terratag‘s lucky dip mystery bags won’t be available forever.

Justin Bieber wore what looks like quite a cool t-shirt, from the side at least.

Daily Tees & News for November 9th

by Andy on November 9, 2011

gremlins t-shirt

Very cool Gremlins shirt at TeeFury today.

Tilteed are lucky that they’ve got such a solid back catalogue.

I don’t get it, but I like it at Stupidhurts.us

Decisions, decisions. Shirt.Woot

Cool Aliens-based shirt at RIPT today, though there is a little debate in their comments as to whether there are hints of Halo in there too.

Ahh, America’s pastime, watching Star Wars whilst eating Cheetos. OtherTees

Huh, what are the chances that two shirt companies do the same logo style design, and that they’re next to each other in my daily bookmarks folder? 24tee

Really nice from Loviu today, I think this style of tee is where they shine.

This Blues Brothers shirt was at TeeRaiders last week, and now it’s at Catch of the Day Tee.

Should this Harry Potter shirt not to be do to with Butter Beer? Shirt Punch

Trippy new shirt at DBH today.

Street Casuals have dropped a load of new Actual Pain goods.

T-shirt designer Gaunty is going to be running the LA marathon and is raising money for charity the same time. Donating to a worthy cause is it’s own reward, but actual rewards are pretty sweet too, so Gaunty has lined up a bit of a competition, giving away shirts that he has designed to people that have donated money.

GAMAGO are holding a massive once day sale at their shop in San Francisco, there will be booze!

VillainPlanet have released a couple of new poker-themed shirts that I assume are to do with a tournament and league in their native Portugal.

2SickBastards will be selling their tees for £11 on the 11th by the look of things.

Sin Star Clothing just launched their own fixed gear bikes, which look cool but obviously I have no idea if they’re good, there are mountains on every side of my house, a fixed-gear bike would be insanity. They have released a 10% off coupon though, FIXIE4THEWIN, which works on everything in the store, which is why I thought we’d better mention them.

Abyss (who are new to me) just dropped two new shirts and a sweatshirt. Use the coupon code Mintees to get 25% off.

star wars t-shirt

I actually quite like this design, but I don’t really like the idea of wearing it as a t-shirt, almost as if wearing it would make me one of those dog people that doesn’t realise that they use their pet in place of having kids.

$10 today at Shirt.Woot

boba fett star wars t-shirt

Usually when I post a Star Wars shirt they’re pretty loud and often quite cartoonish in style, but this shirt (a collaboration between tech news site Geeks Are Sexy and Split Reason) is a bit more restrained, resulting in a very cool stencil style design of Boba Fett.

Costiness=$18.95 Buy it at Split Reason

The Marc Ecko x Star Wars hoodies from previous seasons had always shown a lot of promise, but no quite lived up to what I would have hoped to see from such a big-name collaboration, these latest iterations however are clearly improvements on past efforts. Full-face mask zips should have been on all the hoodies from the first time Ecko started releasing this line, but I guess this is a case of better late than never.

All four of the hoodies shown are available from hoodiepeople.com and you won’t be paying more than $100 for any of them, which seems surprisingly reasonable. [via Tcritic]

202 Star Wars T-Shirts [Lists]

by Andy on July 16, 2009

star-wars-t-shirts-logo

I think that you’d be pretty hard pressed to find a series of movies that have gained as much of a following as Star Wars, and as you’d expect that has resulted in a huge amount of t-shirts being produced that reference the films in one way or another. So, being HYA, I thought that I’d better make an unnecessarily large list of them. As always, the t-shirts are not ranked, the numbers are merely there as an illustration so that we all know which is which, so being #1 or #202 means nothing. Some of these tees will be pretty recognisable as they’ve been featured on HYA before, and some were also in the 101 Robots List from last month, but if you know of any I haven’t featured then please let me know in the comments. The list has also been split up into pages to ensure swift loading times (my server may probably wouldn’t like people loading 202 pictures at a time).

As you would expect these lists take quite a long time (this one took about 30 hours, seriously), so if you deem it worthy, it would be fantastic if you could promote this article in any way. Twitter, Delicious, StumbleUpon, Digg, your own blog, carve the URL onto a tree, anything!

Real Trooper Hoodie by Marc Ecko

by Andy on September 30, 2008

Damn, why did I spend so long (about 30ish hours works) a couple of weeks ago building my Tron costume for a party when I could have just bought a hoodie from streetwear giant Marc Ecko?

I like the way that this hoodie isn’t too ‘novelty’, I must admit that I can’t imagine myself buying it based purely on how it looks, the Star Wars element is clearly a big draw for this hoodie, but at the same time it feels as if they’ve really thought about the design (something that can be seen in a lot of the Ecko x Star Wars range) rather than just cashing in on the franchise.

You can also pretend to be Boba Fett if you want.

Costiness=$98 Buy it at Marc Ecko [via Tcritic] *You can get $10 off your order when you spend $100 (yeah, $100 frustrating right?) by using the coupon code STARWARSFAN8 at the checkout, this coupon code expires on Sunday at midnight.
