Can someone explain to me why anyone would want to wear a shirt that says ‘sorry I fucked your mom’ on it?

I like this artwork, but I haven’t seen enough of Breaking Bad to know whether this mashup actually makes any sense, can someone help me out in the comments? If the design is just based on the pun then it’s a little poor, since we’re seeing a Joker mashup, and from my limited understanding in Breaking Bad Bryan Cranston starts out with the drugs as a way to earn money for his family after he dies of cancer (I’ve literally only seen the first two episodes, and that was some time ago), which wouldn’t align with the Joker’s ideology of mayhem for it’s own sake. Still a cool design though!

Post image for Another Fine Tee: Tee Time Once Every 72 Hours – Hands On T-shirt Review!

Hello all you HYA readers, it’s me, Leah! Remember or have you forgotten about me? I know it’s been awhile since I posted last, but I am back and hoping I can make up for lost time. So, I did a blog a little while ago about Another Fine Tee and as a thank-you, they were kind enough to send me a t-shirt (their very first print to be exact), so of course I jumped at the chance to review it! Another Fine Tee is one of those “tee-a-day” sites that we all love so much and they are indeed a very new company opening  just this Summer. They have already shown to be very promising displaying a range of pop-culture tees, as well as some pop-culture with more of an artsy quality about them. Another Fine Tee does not necessarily offer a “tee-a-day”, but close enough, as they offer one original, limited edition t-shirt design once every 72 hours! Also, as we know with all sites like this, once the time is up, you can no longer purchase it on their site.

Like I mentioned earlier, I received Another Fine Tee’s very first print on their site, Big Blue Skies designed by the great J3concepts who makes some incredible tees and this one is no different. There are a couple reasons why I really admire this design – one obvious reason being that I am a big fan of the show Breaking Bad that this shirt is inspired by. The other less obvious reason that I like this one, is not only is it a pop-culture tee, but it also incorporates artsy-elements in the style of the lines and in the overall mood of the design. One last thing, though I am pretty sure not that many people would agree with me, but the fact that J3 decided to leave out text makes it even more of a success in my eyes.

Another Fine Tee prints their designs on 100% cotton, and also on 50/50 blend – it all depends on the design and the day. The tee that I was given is a 100% cotton blank (and actually, I am not sure what brand the blank is, but it is comparable to the Gildan Softstyle), but I must say it’s a bit shorter in length than I am used to. The overall fit is a bit tight in places, but it feels comfortable. I think their tees run a bit small and I would have been better to have chosen a women’s medium instead of small – just keep that in mind when you purchase in the future.

As for the print, I can tell it’s screen-printed by it’s soft ink that seems to have blended in very nicely with the fabric of the tee and even after a few washes (and laying flat to dry), it’s still maintaining it’s quality. The size of the print could have been a little bigger to utilize the t-shirt canvas, in my opinion, but it’s not a deal breaker at all – I just prefer my prints larger. I do appreciate the custom printed tag most of all from Another Fine Tee; their logo is cute, fun, and professional and if you know me, then you know I gravitate to these surprising little details!

Thanks again to Another Fine Tee for giving me the opportunity to review their brand and their tee and of course, thanks to everyone out there for reading!

breaking bad t-shirt

As you’d imagine it was the Abraham Lincoln t-shirt that caught my ee the most at Tshirt Laundry this week, not because it’s a good design (it is what it is), but because I don’t remember them producing tees on this kind of topic before, so I Googled the quote (we didn’t get taught much American history when I was in school), and it turns out it’s not even a real Lincoln quote, it’s something that Michael Scott said on The Office. Is this really what t-shirts are coming down to? Has every avenue been so exhausted that people are forced to put the most oblique and minute aspects of a TV show onto a shirt?

Whenever I see t-shirts about Breaking Bad it makes me feel like I should be watching the show because I know it’s excellent but just don’t have the time to fit it in with all the other things I already have to watch. When did TV become so stressful?

Fairly average bunch at Tshirt Laundry, but if any of them take your fancy then they’re all $14 this week going up to $18 after that.

Lookie here, a new daily (every 72 hours) t-shirt company newly open for business – Another Fine Tee: Tee Time Every 72 Hours. Hmm, and I can’t help but be interested in this site, starting out their launch with an impressive Breaking Bad inspired design by J3concepts and only at $11 a tee! Remember these are tees that come and GO; they’re limited prints for a limited time. (Big Blue Skies is available now until the 14th!)

P.S. I love your logo. Tea and tees, what a good mix I say!

SIX new designs from BustedTees

breaking bad t-shirt

I’m not exactly floored by this week’s releases at funny tee supremo BustedTees (none are terrible but they are lacking a certain wow factor), but I am quite partial to that ‘I Still Believe in Outer Space’ design.

Top 5 t-shirts at RedBubble in February

by Andy on March 7, 2012

bill murray t-shirt

I got an e-mail from RedBubble that showed their top five best sellers in certain categories (t-shirts, posters, prints, that kind of thing) and I thought that it would be interesting to share with you. I don’t know what order they should be in, I just know that these are the top 5 according to RedBubble themselves. Predictably, all the designs have a pop culture reference in them in one way or another, proving that if you want to make money on RedBubble, art is nice but a reference will get you everywhere.

I’m kind of disappointed to see this Bill Murray t-shirt in the top 5, not because I don’t like it (who doesn’t love Bill Murray?) but because it’s just a LiveTrace of a photo and the designer admits that they don’t know who the original photographer is, and I think that if I were the photographer I’d like to at least be asked before one of my images was used on a t-shirt.

If I complained about the Bill Murray shirt then you won’t be surprised to find that I have similar qualms about this Breaking Bad inspired ‘Los Pollos Hermanos’ t-shirt since it’s practically the same as the original design from the show with just a bit of distressing to it. It is a pretty cool logo though so I can see why people are buying it.

Pretty sure I’ve featured this “Time-y Wimey” Doctor Who design by Tom Trager before when it was on one of the daily sites, but clearly it has been popular on RedBubble as well.

Very nice Troy & Abed x Calvin & Hobbes mashup by MeganLara. I like this because the mashup isn’t just two random pop cultures items picked because they’re popular, but because they actually make sense together.

‘College of Winterhold’ is a design referencing Game of Thrones, and that’s about as much background as I can give you on it, but college style designs like this are always popular so it’s hardly surprising that this has made it to the top five for February.

I know that I often write about items on HYA that skirt the edges of copyright infringement quite frequently and don’t pull people up for it, but I feel that this case is slightly different to the usual since there haven’t been large enough changes to the images for it to be deemed fair use in my opinion. Let me know in the comments if you think my thoughts have missed the mark.

tshirt laundry

Ron Swanson, I know, Breaking Bad, I know, but the Room? The Room was new to me so I had a bit of a Google, and it turns out that it’s one of the worst films ever made, and because of that people love it. Tshirt Laundry must have heard of it though since they made that weird looking tee about it. I presume that the very simple and DIY look to that design is something of an homage to the qualities of the film, since it doesn’t really fit with the direction that Tshirt Laundry have been going with their tees recently.

by Andy on February 21, 2012

star wars alderaan t-shirt

A truly grown-worthy Star Wars pun t-shirt from TeeFury.

RIPT have a Firefly tourism shirt available today.

LOST x “Spy vs. Spy” today at Shirt Punch.

The simplicity of this 24tee shirt made me chuckle.

Pokemon gets a run out at TeeRaiders.

Doctor Who design by Tom Trager has been added to the Tshirt Contest catalogue.

I really like this design from DBH, bit different from my usual tastes, but it’s interesting.

Los Pollos Hermanos is a Breaking Bad themed shirt that is $11 instead of $20 for another day at BustedTees.

This lovely Greg Abbott t-shirt is back at Tilteed.

These three shirts are new-ish at Camiseteria.

Seventh.Ink have some of their older designs available for the ridiculously low price of $7.

Wrongwroks have got a sale on, though you do need to spend a minimum of $150 to qualify.

A Better Tomorrow have a sale on for their plain zip-up hoodies.

Rib Cage Customs are giving away ten t-shirts in conjunction with Loaded Magazine (which does mean the link looks a bit NSFW).

Like Sin Star on Facebook and you’ll be sent a massive 50% off coupon code. This offer is good until March 20th.

Threadless screenprint 99% of their tees, but they are experimenting with DTG. Sounds like a good way to make sure some of the less loved designs don’t get consigned to the design cemetery.

I wouldn’t describe myself as being a Trekkie in any way, but how freakin’ good is that Star Trek x Asteroids design? Impressive slew of releases from 604Republic, those guys certainly know their audience.

T-shirt News for January 19th

by Andy on January 19, 2012

breaking bad t-shirt

I realised that this TeeFury shirt was about Breaking Bad, but having only seen a couple of episodes the Los Pollos Hermanos aspect of this shirt is lost on me.

I think that this might be my favourite design that Shirt.Woot have released.

Goonies-inspired t-shirt from RIPT today.

“The Marvelous commute to Wonderland” is up at Qwertee.

It’s Back To The Future vs Bill and Ted at Shirt Punch today.

Here’s another 24tee shirt that goes over my head.

I know that Community isn’t for everyone, but the paintball episode was truly fantastic, so I’m glad to get the reminder from TeeRadiers.

Two new shirts from DBH today (including one that is fighting SOPA that will only be available for a couple more days).

BustedTees have some wrestling pandas for $13.99 instead of $20 this week.

Hey look, Tilteed are selling ‘The Eternal Struggle’ again.

This error greeted me when I visited TeeBlitz this morning.

Adam has some advice over at TeeJunction on creating a t-shirt brand.

Save up to 20% on your order at Wrongwroks, providing you spend quite a lot.

Raygun Robyn is aiming for global domination, and to do that she’s going to offer free shipping to the first person from countries that haven’t yet made an order in her store.

Johnny Cupcakes shares a little story of how he put a plastic skull into a random customer’s order for a hat to try and add some mystery and magic to the online shopping process. It might give other store owners ideas about how they can make their shopping experience more interesting.

Obscure Printing are going to start offering a complete fulfillment service for brands (printing, packing, shipping, and stock holding). They’re also collaborating with a company called Judda distribution which will make brands available to 3000+ stores across Europe, which could be a great opportunity for a lot of brands. It’ll be interesting to see where this goes.

Mila Kunis wore a vintage-styled Pepsi t-shirt, super-duper!

Daily Tees & News for December 12th

by Andy on December 12, 2011

breaking bad t-shirt

Everyone have a good weekend? I did until last night when I had a nasty fall during my snowboarding lesson at the dry slope. Fell on my front, my jakcet rode up and my stomach turned into ‘brakes’, my tummy new resembles those crisps that are meant to look like streaky bacon, oh, the pain!

I really want to get into Breaking Bad, but after a couple of episodes of the first season it was just too depressing so I stopped, I will probably try again though. Shirt is $10 today at TeeFury.

I haven’t read Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy, but apparently this Qwertee shirt has something to do with it.

Apparently this RIPT tee is something to do with a cartoon show that may or may not be on TV anymore but to be completely honest I don’t recognise it and no one mentions it in the RIPT comments, your suggestions please!

And what band is this Owl at Shirt.Woot listening to? The Who, of course!

Pretty rare that you see a Gremlins tee, but this is a lovely example of the breed at The Yetee.

Seinfeld Festivus shirt over at TeeMinus24. Funny how you don’t hear much about Christmukkah nowadays.

I haven’t seen Donnie Darko so this shirt at OtherTees may or may not be genius.

You want an Angry Birds t-shirt? 24tee have got it!

A melting Portal companion cube greets us today at TeeRaiders.

I really like this Star Wars design at Graphic Lab, but I do question the black on dark grey colour choice. Then again, it would probably look a bit naff if it was on a white t-shirt.

Ahhh, one of my favourite Loviu designs.

Pikachu gets an outing on this Shirt Punch design.

Tshirt Contest ensure that we have at least one Doctor Who t-shirt today, thank goodness.

Very nice shirt of the day at DBH.

BustedTees deal of the next couple of days is their attachment that you put on a beer to make it look like you have a mustache. Presumably it’s like those little win trinkets people buy so that you know who’s wine glass belongs to who, except for beer. $8.99 for 6 instead of $11.99

Expansion II comes out to play once again at Tilteed.

Tee Mashups is a site I found out about at the weekend that offers designs on sale for 48 hours. Today and tomorrow they have a Dick Tracey vs Carmen Sandiego shirt available.

Megan Fox may be a very attractive lady, and that’s a pretty cool sweatshirt, but I will never understand why people wear stuff that looks like it has spent a few months with a bunch of moths.

Wrongwroks have added hiking boots to their product range, of course.

There’s 25% off everything today only at Loserkids.

Mashable have a good resource for increasing Facebook engagement through custom tabs that should be useful for store owners.

Yes No Maybe have a few coupon codes available. The more you spend the more you save, all the way up to 20% off.

Original Music Shirt, who I still think took a lot of inspiration from Threadless with their redesign, are offering free global shipping with the coupon code ILIKETOMOVEIT if you spend 25€+ before December 14th.

Springleap are holding a contest that is only open to previous design winners, which should make for some pretty tasty entries.

OMUNKY are offering 18% off from now until December 19th with the coupon code 18off2011.

PalmerCash are now selling shirts, the kind with buttons!

The Quiet Life are running a holiday promo, if you spend $100 or more they’ll give you a free duffel bag that they usuall charge $40 for. It would be perfect for carrying around your gym gear since that will inevitably be your new years resolution. Go to the gym more dammit Andy! They’ve also restocked their hat selection.

Terratag are knocking 10% off all orders. No coupon necessary, the discount will automatically be applied at the checkout.

Whilst I do like the idea of ‘ugly’ Christmas tees I think that this Kickstarter project might be a bit too late, it won’t be funded (if it reaches 100%) until January 9th, and then when will you receive the shirt? I’m pretty sure everyone’s Christmas cheer will be long gone by that time.
