Disturbia SS12 out now!

disturbia clothing

I was a little bit out of the loop with the latest release at Disturbia, as the collection went on sale a bit over a week ago, but it’s still pretty fresh news if you ask me.

It’s a pretty big release, but that’s hardly surprising since they’re pretty big now, we all know I’m not big into my horror designs, but they’ve made a name for themselves in that niche and they have quite a lot of stuff that I’d wear even though I don’t spend much time in that corner of the market, which suggest to me that they’re doing something right. Check out the lookout after the break.

New clothes, new lookbook, new video (not suitable for epileptics, but very cool) and a new website for Disturbia, who once again make me wonder whether I actually am a fan of horror labels (I certainly seem to have been posting them a lot recently).

disturbia launch party

Disturbia are clearly stepping up their game, because when I first saw this flyer I presumed that their were launching their clothes at a club, but I now realise they’re actually opening a retail store in Newcastle, and that’s pretty impressive.

It’s also impressive that they’re going to have Godmachine and Drew Millward (who,of course, have designed shirts for Disturbia) in store on the launch night doing live art. I don’t know if I’ll be able to make it along (it’s about 2 hours from me), but the first 50 people to turn up will get a goodie bag, and the first chance to pick up the new collection of clothing.

disturbia clothing

It’s really interesting to see Disturbia branching out and growing beyond being a company that sells t-shirts and hoodies to being more of a lifestyle brand. I’ve made it clear in the past that their style isn’t necessarily something that I would wear, although I would happily pick up a few of these items (the non-horror/gore ones) which probably shows that as they’re growing and diversifying they’re also starting to appeal to those of us that don’t want to wear a shirt with a torrent of blood on it.

disturbia autumn winter line 2010

Remember a few months ago when I thought it was a good idea to start introducing a bit more horror and gore to HYA since there’s a market for it and some of you guys like that kind of thing? Well, it didn’t last too long simply because I forgot to put the effort in to posting that style, but Disturbia’s latest release (and new website) has reminded me that I need to get back on it. We all know there’s a conflict of interest in posting about brands that are loyal advertisers on HYA (I still have a spot or two available), but I feel that Disturbia are a cut above the rest when it comes to horror designs, and this latest line of t-shirts and hoodies shows no signs of them losing their touch.

Like Horror Tees, here’s some more Disturbia

Disturbia geisha t-shirt

As if to prove I don’t treat my advertisers any better than other brands, here’s Disturbia’s latest line…. which they release on February 1st and I’ve only just taken a look at now.

To say it looks as if some of the designs have felt the touch of Godmachine is something of an understatement, it’s fair to say that GM is one ingredient that helps to make the Disturbia loaf rise… I think I just got lost in my own metphor… GM tees = Good. Of course, Disturbia aren’t a one man line, and all their other designers appear to know how to put together a good tee too.

If you’re not aboard the horror train then this line probably won’t be for you, and some of these designs aren’t to my wearing taste either, but I can appreciate the skill that’s gone into them. Also, one tee has boobs on it, which makes this post vaguely NSFW, so if you get fired for looking at HYA, what a way to go, huh?

Almost there!

That’s me with Monaco in the background, and before anyone says it, I hate my teeth.

One piece of blogging advice that I always remember is that you shouldn’t apologise for not posting, because if you have time to do that then you have time write posts of some value, but I’m a polite fellow, so sorry about my unexplained absence over the past few days. Today is my last day working in France, and tomorrow I will be setting off on the drive home to the Lake District in England. If all goes correctly I’ll be home on Thursday, so after a weekend of relaxing HYA will be back on form next Monday with a full posting schedule, not the sub-par offerings I’ve been giving you over the past couple of weeks.

Just so that this post wasn’t a total bust for those of you that don’t care where I am or what I’m doing (and really, why should you?), you can get 20% off this week at Seibei with the coupon code SPACEWITCH, and if you spend more than £30 in a single order at Disturbia before November 6th you’ll receive a free mystery t-shirt.
