doctor who costume t-shirt

As far as costume shirts go I think this one could do with more… stuff, it’s a little subtle (even if that subtlety is due to accuracy), but you guys seem to love Doctor Who, so TeeFury are probably onto a winner here.

Mario x Banksy? Shirt.Woot you glorious bastards! I give it a week until this gets stenciled onto a wall.

Hahaha, “The Screamer”, very good work RIPT.

I really like the white on purple colourway from today, looks good.

I’ve decided to add Uneetee into the mix on my daily posts, they don’t release new shirt every day, but they do put a shirt on special offer, and today’s insaneetee is ‘Sacrifice’. Thinking about it, this gorgeous shirt is $19.99 down from $24.99, which is a saving of 20%, but all this week at Uneetee they’re offering 20% off all regularly-priced tees (so this one isn’t included), so there are tees in their store available cheaper.

Nice Dexter/Scream mashup design here from OtherTees.

It’s funny, but who would buy this Loviu shirt?

I hadn’t heard of bluebutter before, but they have got an awful lot of solid pop culture designs that I think you guys will enjoy checking out, their store is kind of like looking at a months worth of TeeFury designs.

Daily Tee Roundup: September 12th

by Andy on September 12, 2011

doctor who t-shirt

After being on a bit of a downer yesterday I’m glad to say that there are some really nice shirts from the daily tee sites today, so let’s dive right in.

“Access-who-rize” is a great Doctor Who t-shirt, I really like the style, it’s pretty different to most of the Who shirts that I see. $10 today at TeeFury.

“Everdeen Hunting Co-operative” is apparently based on a series of books called ‘The Hunger Games’ that I haven’t read, and apparently the designer of this shirt from Nowhere Bad hasn’t read either, so they must be great. $12 for the next four days.

“Durden’s Soap” is a cool design, like everyone my age I loved Fight Club when it was released, I think it was one of those movies that you thought was a lot smarter than it actually was, which is often the case with movies that come with a ‘message’, but watching it was still a damn fine way to spend a couple of hours. From $10 at RIPT today.

“The Toasty Ranger” is a squee-inducing shirt from Shirt.Woot that is too cute for it’s own good, I’d want to hug anyone wearing this tee. $10 today only.

I think that there may be something wrong with the image that Loviu have put up for “Punk Fish” but it’s still pretty obvious what the shirt is all about, a puffer fish with a mohawk, cool concept well executed. €12 today then €22 tomorrow and beyond.

I feel bad about this, since TeeMinus24 are an advertiser on HYA and thus support my fabulous lifestyle, and I’m sure they’re doing their best, but the artwork for “R2D2: Universe Trotter” just isn’t good enough. Maybe they’re using low-res mocks to protect it from rippers, but I can’t see anyone wanting to buy a shirt that looks like that. You can pick up this shirt for $13.

Daily Tee Roundup 09/09/11: Be quick y’all!

Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along t-shirt

Sorry I missed the daily tee roundup yesterday, I was at the Westmorland County Show (which is funny because Westmorland hasn’t been a county since before I was born), hopefully we didn’t miss any amazing shirts.

TeeFury are giving us a shirt based on Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along today, I haven’t seen it so I have no idea what the shirt is about, but the design is pretty nice. $10 today only.

Today RIPT are selling a shirt called ‘Untitled Madness’ which sounds like the name an art student would give their piece when they can’t think of a good name for it. I’m not a fan of this shirt, it feels a bit generic in the way that it covers all the bases in terms of design elements; skull, birds, tree roots, random circles. There’s nothing wrong with liking all that stuff of course, but it’s not for me.

‘Cat-At loves you’ is one of the better shirts that Nowhere Bad have offered recently, really cute style. $12 for the shirt this weekend.

‘Princess Daiana’ is a very cool shirt from Loviu today, and I really like the way that it the colour palette is CMYK, that’s a nice touch. €12 for the rest of today then €22 in the catalogue.

‘Fish Fingers & Custard’ is on sale at Qwertee for the next couple of days. I presume that this is a Doctor Who reference to Amy Pond?

The Yetee have been impressing me with their releases, I don’t know much about them but they do seem to have cool designs, and that’s all I’m interested in really. This Star Fox shirt is available for $11 for the next 4 days.

‘Cell Division’, ha, you crack me up sometimes Shirt.Woot.

‘Pug and Play’ has a cool style to it, and I think that this Tilteed shirt might mark the first time I’ve featured designers from Hungary, so that’s a new thing. Shirt $12 for the next few hours, then it’s gone.

There’s a surprisingly large amount of Big Lebowski shirts out there really, I know it’s a cult film, but it gets a lot more t-shirt attention than I expected. You can pick up this shirt at TeeMinus24 for $13 today.

I’m sure that Doctor Who designs weren’t this popular even a year ago, that show really has exploded in popularity (with a lot of that growth coming in the US).

From $10 today at RIPT

star wars vs. star trek t-shirt

It’s surprising how few t-shirts there are dealing with the eternal debate of Star Wars vs. Star Trek. Of course, people are allowed to like both, but it is natural to compare the two most popular sci-fi franchises. “Beam This!” is available at 604Republic for $19.95, you can buy it here.

Did anyone catch the new Doctor Who episode on Saturday (I’m not sure if it has been on in the US yet)? I find myself being pulled more and more towards the DW universe, so I think I’m going to have to put some of the 2005 series on my LoveFilm list and get into it soon. “Intoxicate” is also $19.95 and is available from 604Republic now.

doctor who t-shirt

I’m sure that t-shirt companies work these things out weeks in advance but there has definitely been a flurry of shirt companies using Charlie Brown/Peanuts styled designs over the past couple of weeks. Of course the Doctor Who references are all to be expected this weekend, but can anyone explain why there’s all this love for Charlie Brown at the moment?

Buy the shirt for $12 at Nowhere Bad over the next 3 days.

Sorry the daily reviews are coming in so late today, the Sun decided to shine in the Lakes today so I thought I’d better make the most of it. What a timely Doctor Who design!

More than 100 Doctor Who T-shirts

by Andy on April 14, 2011

doctor who t-shirts

Hide Your Arms has gained something of a reputation for creating epic t-shirt lists and obsessing over films and TV shows to find t-shirts. When it was first suggested to me that I write a list of Doctor Who t-shirts (if you have an idea for a list send it in) I thought that it might be a tough ask since I don’t watch the show. I don’t have anything against it, I just already spend too much time watching TV shows, though since practically everyone says it’s good I probable should give it a go. Still, since the fans, or at least one fan, wanted a list of Doctor Who t-shirts, I made it my mission to hunt them down.

As you’ll find in the list there are quite a lot of good Dr. Who t-shirt designs out there, but nowhere near as many as with Star Wars, which is hardly surprising considering the popularity gap between the two, so I haven’t been able to create a list on the epic scale of the 200 shirts in the Star Wars list, but I think the current 119 designs is still fairly sizable. It’s also quite telling that many of the designs riff on the same themes, which suggests to me that Doctor Who designs haven’t been explored too deeply by the more creative t-shirt designers out there. You’ll also notice that a lot of shirts come from a few different retailers, which is frustrating for me since it looks like I’ve only looked in a handful of places, but the truth is that I’ve searched long & wide and not come back with many stores that sell Dr. Who t-shirts. Whether this means we will see more in the future (or that I have simply not discovered a treasure trove of excellent designs), who knows.

As ever, these lists take an awfully long time to put together, so if you would like to share the list with anyone via Twitter, Facebook, StumbleUpon, Delicious etc. I would be very grateful, your sharing keeps new people visiting the site, and that in turn means that I am able to keep writing them.
