smile cctv camera purple t-shirt by glennz

In Britain we get told a lot that we’re the most surveilled nation on Earth because we’ve got a lot of CCTV cameras, but you know what? They have a lot less cameras in North Korea but you don’t see people scrambling to go there for the freedom. I’m sure most of those cameras are just in shops to put people off shoplifting anyway, and why should I really care about someone taking a video (that no one will ever watch) of me buying a packet of crisps?

I really hope that Cory Doctorow doesn’t read this blog (he tweeted about it once, so perhaps), because I’ll be in for a lecture about why it’s an invasion of my privacy, and I can see those concerns, but I do think people go a bit overboard about this stuff sometimes.

This is one of my favourite Glennz shirts for a while, the colourwat really works for me, and I like that he’s kept his trademark style whilst putting out a design that makes you rather more than his usual pop culture-based jokey designs.

I’m going to attempt to clear out a backlog of tees that I’ve bookmarked over the past few months and doing a full weekend schedule is a decent way of helping to whittle down that list. Of course, just because I’m writing posts at the weekend doesn’t mean that there are more hours in the day, so these posts will likely have less commentary than usual. I figure that since I’m just pointing out single tees you guys are either going to like the tee or not, so what I say is less important than usual, and I wouldn’t have thought that it was particularly important to start with!

streetwear t shirt shop a better tomorrow 1251735799934 480x181 Dale Edwin Murray Hits A Better Tomorrow with Monsters, Bones N Slime

It’s fair to say that Dale Edwin Murray is quickly becoming one of the better known names in the t-shirt design competition world, even though he hasn’t been submitting to them for all that long, I remember getting an e-mail from an excited Dale last year about his first Threadless win (currently sold out). This latest winner shows off Dale’s unique style of character design (see this design at Tilteed for another example) and has a totally sweet colourway to boot.

Costiness=€22 (€26 after this week) Available from A Better Tomorrow

Lost in the City by @ LaFraise

Considering that I have a massive eBoy poster (incidentally, May 9th – June 30th, they’re exhibiting @ Concrete Hermit) on the wall behind my laptop, I was more than a little bit excited seeing a pixel art style t-shirt being a winner in the Vice Magazine x laFraise competition.

Striclty speaking, it isn’t all that pixelly, but the style is certainly suggestive of it, and that’s good enough for me. Beyond that, Whiff Focker has come up with a pretty stunning design and paired it up with a really interesting colour palette. If you want to see the design as a whole (the LaFraise product pics are cool, but you can’t really grasp the feel of the design), then here’s a link to a nice big jpeg that shows you the whole thing.

Costiness=€22 Link

In other LaFraise news, Jouni, their EU blogger, has announced that he’ll be leaving that post soon (perhaps today, I can’t remember), I haven’t actually had any direct contact with him, but he always made getting LaFraise news a lot more interesting and its a pity to see him go.
