T-shirt News for January 18th

by Andy on January 18, 2012

dexter t-shirt

Any Dexter fans in the house? I’m sure this TeeFury design will be right up your street.

I don’t think that sounds like a good idea AT ALL. Shirt.Woot.

RIPT couldn’t decide on a reference today so they had to just use all of them.

I don’t get it. Nowhere Bad.

Awful lot of skulls today at Shirt Punch.

One for the atheists over at Stupidhurts.us.

I don’t watch Archer, but I’m fairly sure that’s what this TeeMinus24 shirt is referencing.

There’s a new Doctor Who t-shirt at 24tee.

As long as you like all-over prints this shirt at DBH is rather lovely.

Hey look, Tilteed are selling that cool sushi t-shirt again.

Design Juices showcase 50 t-shirts with interesting typography.

T-Post are giving away the T-shirt Stories documentary DVD (which I can’t find anywhere in the UK, and I don’t know if I can order it off French Amazon) to people who subscribe to their tee service.

Green Day are running a t-shirt design contest, except you have to be part of their ‘Idiot Club’ to enter, and that has a $20 annual subscription, so you effectively have to pay to enter this contest… lame.

Miles To Go are running a poster sale until Friday.

Wrongwroks have opened a 2nd store in China, it’s fun to watch Tony’s brand expanding.

HYA isn’t going dark in protest of SOPA/PIPA (mostly because I don’t think anyone would miss it) but a lot of other websites are.

Rigu is still a thing.

Karmaloop have a video about L’il Wayne’s new clothing line (that doesn’t look at all like every other BAPE-esque brand out there), TRUKFIT.

604Republic have upped the prize in their design competition.

Evolution & Atheist T-shirts

by Andy on May 24, 2010

evolution t-shirt

This list would have made a lot more sense last year, when people were celebrating Darwin’s 200th birthday, but as it’s evolution, I think it’s appropriate to post anytime. I know you guys usually expect to see 100+ t-shirts in a list from Hide Your Arms, but unsurprisingly a lot more people want to make t-shirts about Star Wars and Robots than evolution.

For what it’s worth, I’m an atheist, I believe in evolution, if you don’t, I respect your right to have a different opinion to me, so please afford me the same respect. Evolution and atheism tend to go hand-in-hand, and for that reason I have included a t-shirts that are more specifically ‘atheist t-shirts’ rather than t-shirts about evolution.

When it comes to t-shirts about the subject of evolution, the first thing a lot of designers think of is “The Evolution of Man“, so that style does make up the bulk of the list, but there are some other really good designs in the list too, enjoy!

These lists don’t write themselves, so if you have enjoyed reading it or have bought a tee or two you found here, I would really appreciate it if you could spread the word about the list. Some of the best ways to share it are really easy, like posting a link to your Twitter or Facebook account. Even easier is to click the ‘I like it’ button if you have the StumbleUpon Toolbar installed on your browser. If you write a blog it would be great if you linked to this list too. If you don’t want to share it, that’s cool too, I just hope you enjoyed reading it and found some cool t-shirts. If you want to see more lists that I have written, check out the lists category for some from me, as well as links to other t-shirt lists around the internet.

coexistence

‘Facts’ and ‘evidence’ be damned, humans and dinosaurs lived on Earth together, and in harmony no less (except for the T-Rex, he was always pissed off because he had all those teeth and no toothbrush).

Advertising Career Evolution

tshirts

I’m sure some of you saw this a couple of months ago when it was doing the rounds (wasn’t it designed a little differently?) but now, in an entirely predictable move, it is available as a t-shirt (and posters, mugs, pins, and mousepads) via Zazzle. To be fair to the graphic, when I was an intern in Philly I asked so many dumb questions (“how do I print on both sides of the paper?”) that people probably thought that a monkey would have probably been a better option.

Costiness=$19.95 (and up) Available from Work For Food [via Tee.ms]

darwinsale

Damn, I feel like I could have done a lot more with that title, but it is what it is.

Anywho, Charles Darwin had his 200th birthday last week, which a lot of people seemed to think was a big deal on account of him writing some book the gist of which is “things change to fit their surroundings.” Kind of obvious to me, and yet he’s celebrated as some kind of genius. I wonder what people in 200 years will think of my masterpiece “people who are nice are likable.”

“Wheeevolution” by I’m A Hot Tee

by Andy on January 6, 2009

jetpack_large_web

I think it might be time I wrote a massive list up of evolution tees, there’s hundreds of them out there but, naturally, I would select the best designs for such a list…

It’s funny that jetpacks were once seen as an aim for technological innovation, much like the flying car, but what did people really think we were going to do with them? Can you really imagine a situation where lots of people whizzing around in the sky would be a good idea?

For an unknown about of time (perhaps a week) you can get 10% off the tee using the Rocketeer inspired coupon code of Secord.

Costiness=$17.99 Buy Wheevolution at I’m A Hot Tee

Teach the Controversy have got a few new tees up in their store that continue to point out how stupid a lot of things are, such as the earth being 6000 years old… which it isn’t. They’re also running a ‘Buy More Save More’ sale/coupon code, in which if you buy two tees, you can get 20% off using the coupon code BUYMORE6, but if you buy three or more items you can get 25% off with the coupon code BUYMORE7. That offer runs until Sunday, and is also available on Amorphia Apparel, and Wear Science!, I’m not sure if you can order a tee from each site and combine them to use the coupon though.

Justin Timberlake believes in Monkeys

by Andy on October 27, 2008

Wondering why there are so many celebrity posts on HYA today? Look here for an explanation.

Wahey! Here’s a tee where I’ve finally found somewhere that you can actually buy it (several places in fact). Admittedly, in a slightly different colourway, but hey, I’m trying my best here, okay?

The tee is ‘Lucky Strike’ and is by RVCA, you can buy it at: In red at Magic Seaweed Surf Shop, and on white with grey lettering at Swell, and Underworld.

Devolution by RRP OFF

Devolution by RRP OFF

Oh look, a t-shirt with a robot on it, how very unusual for HYA!

There’s quite a lot of tees out there that riff on the traditional image of monkey-to-man evolution, and I think that this one can stand proudly amongst them… because of the big robot on it. Also, you’ve got to applaud RRP OFF for having some of the strangest promo pics that I’ve seen in a long time.
